Ernst Rexer
Ernst Rexer (2 April 1902 – 14 May 1983) was a German nuclear physics, nuclear physicist. He worked on the German nuclear energy program during World War II. After the war, he was sent to Laboratory V, in Obninsk, to work on the Soviet atomic bomb project. In 1956, he was sent to East Germany, where he was a professor and director of the Institute for the Application of Radioactive Isotopes at the ''Technische Hochschule Dresden''. Education In 1923, Rexer began studies in chemistry and physics at the ''University of Freiburg, Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg''. In 1926 he completed the ''Chemikerverbandsexamen'' (Chemist Federation exam). From 1926 to 1929, he worked in the ''Osram, Osram Werke'' (Osram Works), in Weisswasser and Berlin. Fred Rexer
Fred Ludwig Rexer, Jr. (November 30, 1946 - August 27, 2021) was a U.S. Army Vietnam combat veteran and Hollywood actor and screenwriter. Biography He was best known as the military advisor for ''Apocalypse Now'' and as Spiritual Advisor for ''Conan the Barbarian''. ( Rexor, the Ben Davidson character in ''Conan'', was named after Fred.) In the opening scenes of ''Red Dawn'', he played the paratroop commander, and later the knife-wielding Russian tank commander gunned down at the service station. Rexer contributed numerous passages to the screenplay of that film and other films written or directed by John Milius and Walter Hill. Milius has named Rexer as the real-life prototype of Captain Willard, the protagonist of ''Apocalypse Now''. Rexer's Annual Data Miner Survey
Rexer Analytics’s Annual Data Miner Survey is the largest survey of data mining, data science, and analytics professionals in the industry. It consists of approximately 50 multiple choice and open-ended questions that cover seven general areas of data mining science and practice: (1) Field and goals, (2) Algorithms, (3) Models, (4) Tools (software packages used), (5) Technology, (6) Challenges, and (7) Future. It is conducted as a service (without corporate sponsorship) to the data mining community, and the results are usually announced at the PAW (Predictive Analytics World) conferences and shared via freely available summary reports.
