Rewilding (horse)
Rewilding (23 February 2007 – 23 July 2011) was a thoroughbred racehorse. He won races at Royal Ascot and in Dubai. His finest hour came when winning the 2011 Prince Of Wales Stakes, beating Australian superstar So You Think. As a 3-year-old he won the Cocked Hat Stakes at Goodwood and the Great Voltiguer Stakes at York. Rewilding was put down after the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at the Betfair Weekend at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday, 23 July 2011. The horse tripped and broke its leg, throwing jockey Frankie Dettori to the ground. The jockey received no serious injuries in the incident. Background Rewilding was sired by the Irish-bred, German-trained horse Tiger Hill out of Darara. Tiger Hill won three Group One races and finished third in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. The Queen Elizabeth II Cup is a Group One Thoroughbred horse race at Sha Tin Racecourse in the New Territories, Hong Kong. Established in 1975 by the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club, it is run annually in April at a distance of 2,000 metres (ten furlongs) on turf. Prior to 1997 it was run at 2,200 metres (eleven furlongs). Sponsored by Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet since 1999, it currently offers a purse of HK$20 million (US$2.6 million)since 2014/15. Dar Re Mi
Dar Re Mi (foaled 2005 in Great Britain) is a retired Thoroughbred racehorse. In a racing career lasting from 2007 to 2010 she won six times, including three at Group One level. Since retiring from racing she has become a very successful broodmare. Background Dar Re Mi is a daughter of Singspiel out of the mare Darara. Singspiel was a very successful breeding stallion whose other top horses include Hibaayeb and Moon Ballad. During her racing career she was owned by Andrew Lloyd Webber and trained by John Gosden. Racing career Dar Re Mi notably ran third in the 2009 Breeders' Cup Turf. She won the Yorkshire Oaks at the Ebor Festival and in August 2009. Darshaan
Darshaan (18 April 1981 – 21 May 2001) was a British-bred, French-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and a Champion sire and broodmare sire. Background Darshaan was a brown horse bred by his owner Aga Khan IV. He was sired by the British stallion Shirley Heights, winner of the 1978 Epsom Derby and the last Epsom Derby winner to be both the son of a previous winner, Mill Reef (1971), and the sire of a subsequent winner, Slip Anchor (1985). Darshaan's dam Delsy, was a daughter of the 1961 Grand Critérium winner, Abdos. She also produced Darara who won the Prix Vermeille and became a very successful broodmare. Racing career Trained by Alain de Royer-Dupré, Darshaan was ridden by Yves Saint-Martin in all his races. It is run at Longchamp over a distance of 2,400 metres (about 1½ miles), and it is scheduled to take place each year in September. History The event is named after a filly foaled in 1853. She was initially known as Merveille, but was later renamed Vermeille. She did not have a remarkable racing career, but was highly successful as a broodmare. It is run over a distance of 2,400 metres (about 1½ miles) at Cologne in late April or early May. History The event was established in 1921, and it was originally called the Preis von Birlinghoven.
