Revenge (nightclub)
Revenge is an LGBT nightclub in Brighton, England. The venue was the first sizable dedicated gay club to open in the city, which is now known for its gay community and is recognised as the "unofficial gay capital of the UK". History The club was opened in 1991 by Tony Chapman as Brighton's first sizable dedicated gay club after spending £300,000 renovating Savannah. In 1996, the venue saw a total redesign featuring new lighting and a cutting edge cooling system within the walls. In 2004, Chapman sold the venue to leisure company Stagfleet Ltd for £1.5 million. The club has hosted celebrity guests, including contestants from the television series ''RuPaul's Drag Race''. Old Steine
The Old Steine () is a thoroughfare in central Brighton, East Sussex, and is the southern terminus of the A23. The southern end leads to Marine Parade, the Brighton seafront and the Palace Pier. The Old Steine is also the site of a number of City Centre bus stops for Brighton buses. The Royal Pavilion is located immediately to the north of the Old Steine. History The Old Steine was originally an open green with a stream running adjacent to the easternmost dwellings of Brighthelmstone. The area was used by local fishermen to lay out and dry their nets. When Brighton started to become fashionable in the late 18th century, the area became the centre for visitors. Building around the area started in 1760, and railings started to appear around the green area in the 1770s, reducing its size. This continued throughout the 19th century. RuPaul's Drag Race
''RuPaul's Drag Race'' is an American reality competition television series, the first in the ''Drag Race'' franchise, produced by World of Wonder for Logo TV (season 1–8), WOW Presents Plus, VH1 (season 9–14) and, beginning with the fifteenth season, MTV.
