Reuters Digital Vision Program
Reuters Digital Vision Program (RDVP) was an academic program. History RDVP was funded by the Reuters Foundation and encouraged innovative applications of computing and communications in the developing world. Located at Stanford University's Center for the Study of Language and Information, the Program supported social entrepreneurs and organizations who sought to leverage technology-based solutions in the interest of humanitarian, educational, and sustainable development goals. The Program fostered interdisciplinary projects and prototyping efforts that address real needs in underserved communities. The core of the Program was a nine-month Fellowship course that brought together 12-15 experienced technologists and social entrepreneurs from around the globe. Reuters ( ) is a news agency owned by Thomson Reuters Corporation. It employs around 2,500 journalists and 600 photojournalists in about 200 locations worldwide. Reuters is one of the largest news agencies in the world. The agency was established in London in 1851 by the German-born Paul Reuter. It was acquired by the Thomson Corporation of Canada in 2008 and now makes up the media division of Thomson Reuters. The software works without an internet connection and with a cell phone and computer. Vipani
Vipani is a non-profit nongovernmental organization aimed at reducing poverty among the rural poor. Vipani was founded by Dr. Thomas George as a fellow of the Stanford University Reuters Digital Vision Program and Rainer Arnhold Fellowships (2002–2004). Brij Kothari
Brij Kothari (born 9 June 1964) is an Indian academic and a social entrepreneur. He invented Same Language Subtitling on TV for mass literacy in India.
