Renous-Quarryville
Renous-Quarryville (2020 population: 1188) is a Canadian local service district in Northumberland County, New Brunswick. It is located 25 mi upstream of Miramichi, and is situated where the Renous River, and the Indiantown brook. discharges into the Southwest Miramichi River. It is named for the Renous river, and settlement, as well as Quarryville's quarry, hence the name "Renous-Quarryville local service district." Renous proper, and the river is probably named for a Micmac chief, Sock Renou. Renous-Quarryville is 5 kilometres east of Blackville where the majority of students attend school, although many also attend Millerton school. The community is the site of the Atlantic Institution, a Correctional Service of Canada maximum-security prison located on the site of a former Canadian Forces ammunition depot. The Miramichi River is a river located in the east-central part of New Brunswick, Canada. The river drains into Miramichi Bay in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The name may have been derived from the Montagnais words "Maissimeu Assi" (meaning Mi'kmaq Land), and it is today the namesake of the Miramichi Herald at the Canadian Heraldic Authority. Southwest Miramichi River
The Southwest Miramichi River is a river in New Brunswick, Canada. The river has its origin in Carleton County, at Miramichi Lake in the Miramichi Highlands (a part of the Appalachian Mountains). Its two branches join near the hamlet of Juniper, Carleton County. Flowing initially southeast through heavy forests and large hills, the Southwest Miramichi River enters Northumberland County, is joined by the Taxis River at Boiestown then the larger volume flows northeast. Kraft Hockeyville
''Kraft Hockeyville'' is an annual competition sponsored by Kraft Heinz, the National Hockey League and the NHL Players' Association in which communities compete to demonstrate their commitment to the sport of ice hockey. The winning community gets a cash prize dedicated to upgrading their local home arena, as well as the opportunity to host an NHL pre-season game. Runners-up also get smaller cash prizes to upgrade their ice rinks. The contest is normally held in the winter and spring during the latter half of the NHL regular season, with the pre-season game usually held in September before the following regular season. If the winning arena is not adequately equipped to host the pre-season game, it is then played at an alternative site nearby.
