Renegades FC
Renegades Football Club (formerly known as Lyford Cay Football Club) is a Bahamian football club based in Lyford Cay while playing its home game in the capital Nassau. The team plays in the BFA Senior League. The team is also known by its nickname of the Ospreys (the Dragons until 2015), to distinguish it from a second Lyford Cay FC that has simultaneously played in the BFA Senior League (as recently as 2013–14) nicknamed the "Warriors". The Warriors serve as the reserve team for the Ospreys. The club was founded in 1989 and has grown significantly over the past twenty-five years moving from a school-based football program to an established football club and registered member of the Bahamas Football Association (BFA). Lyford Cay FC won its first National Championship in 2013–14. Building on this title, the team became the first Bahamian team to compete in the CFU Club Championship in 2015. The BFA Senior League is the highest championship of football in Bahamas. Before 2008 it was played between the winners of the New Providence Football League, the Grand Bahama Football League. In 2008 the two leagues from two islands merged into one league. Lyford Cay
Lyford Cay is a private gated community located on the western tip of New Providence island in The Bahamas. The former cay that lent its name to the community is named after Captain William Lyford Jr., a mariner of note in Colonial and Revolutionary times, and is built on a 448-acre (181 ha) grant he received for his services as a Loyalist in the American Revolutionary War. Captain Lyford also received a 92-acre (37 ha) grant on Cat Island, Bahamas for playing a key role in Andrew Deveaux’s raid of April 1783 that drove the Spanish from Nassau. The Bahamas Football Association (BFA), is the official governing body of the sport of Association football in The Bahamas. The Caribbean Club Championship, also known as the CFU Club Championship or CFU Club Champions' Cup, was an annual international football competition held amongst association football clubs that are members of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU). The Caribbean Club Championship served as a qualifying event for the CONCACAF Champions League tournament. The tournament was officially the Flow CONCACAF Caribbean Club Championship for sponsorship reasons from 2018 to 2022. 2015 CFU Club Championship
The 2015 CFU Club Championship was the 17th edition of CFU Club Championship, the annual international club football competition in the Caribbean region, held amongst clubs whose football associations are affiliated with the Caribbean Football Union (CFU). The top three teams in the tournament qualified for the 2015–16 CONCACAF Champions League. Central won the tournament by defeating fellow Trinidadian side W Connection in the final. Both teams qualified for the Champions League, along with Montego Bay United of Jamaica, who defeated Haitian side Don Bosco in the third place game.
