Baron Remnant
Baron Remnant, of Wenhaston in the County of Suffolk, is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 26 June 1928 for the Conservative politician Sir James Remnant, 1st Baronet, who had previously represented Holborn in the House of Commons. A tropical cyclone is a rapidly rotating storm system characterized by a low-pressure center, a closed low-level atmospheric circulation, strong winds, and a spiral arrangement of thunderstorms that produce heavy rain and squalls. A supernova remnant (SNR) is the structure resulting from the explosion of a star in a supernova. The supernova remnant is bounded by an expanding shock wave, and consists of ejected material expanding from the explosion, and the interstellar material it sweeps up and shocks along the way. There are two common routes to a supernova: either a massive star may run out of fuel, ceasing to generate fusion energy in its core, and collapsing inward under the force of its own gravity to form a neutron star or a black hole; or a white dwarf star may accrete material from a companion star until it reaches a critical mass and undergoes a thermonuclear explosion. In either case, the resulting supernova explosion expels much or all of the stellar material with velocities as much as 10% the speed of light (or approximately 30,000 km/s). Remnant Media was a British company which published a variety of pornographic magazines. On 1 March 2004, Richard Desmond's company Northern and Shell sold a package of 45 titles, for about £20m, to Remnant Media in order to help reshape Desmond's image as part of his strategy to bid for ''The Daily Telegraph''. Remnant cholesterol, also known as remnant lipoprotein, is a very atherogenic lipoprotein composed primarily of very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) and intermediate-density lipoprotein (IDL). Stated another way, remnant cholesterol is all plasma cholesterol that is not LDL cholesterol or HDL cholesterol, which are triglyceride-poor lipoproteins. However, remnant cholesterol is primarily chylomicron and VLDL, and each remnant particle contains about 40 times more cholesterol than LDL. A nova remnant is made up of the material either left behind by a sudden explosive fusion eruption by classical novae, or from multiple ejections by recurrent novae. Over their short lifetimes, nova shells show expansion velocities of around 1000 km/s, whose faint nebulosities are usually illuminated by their progenitor stars via light echos as observed with the spherical shell of Nova Persei 1901 or the energies remaining in the expanding bubbles like T Pyxidis. Form Most novae require a close binary system, with a white dwarf and a main sequence, sub-giant, or red giant star, or the merging of two red dwarfs, so probably all nova remnants must be associated with binaries. Robert John Farquharson Remnant, 2nd Baron Remnant MBE (29 March 1895 – 4 June 1967) was an English cricketer, active from 1920 to 1936. A right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler, he made three appearances in first-class cricket but was mostly associated with minor counties cricket. The son of James Remnant, 1st Baron Remnant, Remnant was born at Westminster, London. He was educated at Eton College and later attended Magdalen College, Oxford. Remnant served with the Royal Berkshire Regiment during the First World War, reaching the rank of major. He made his debut in minor counties cricket for Berkshire following the war in 1920 against Hertfordshire at Watford. Peter Farquharson Remnant (21 September 1897 – 31 January 1968) was a British politician. He was the Conservative Member of Parliament (MP) for Wokingham from 1950 to 1959. The son of James Remnant, 1st Baron Remnant, who was an MP from 1900 to 1928, Peter Remnant was educated at Ludgrove School, Eton College and Magdalen College, Oxford. He was first elected to Parliament in the 1950 general election for the newly recreated seat of Wokingham. He retired at the 1959 general election. He played a first-class cricket match for the Minor Counties team in 1929, making 62 and a duck in his two innings. He played minor counties cricket for Berkshire.
