Rekha Sharma is the current Chairperson of the National Commission for Women in India. __TOC__ Career Ms. Rekha Sharma has been serving as the Chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW) in India since August 7, 2018. She has been associated with the commission as a member since August 2015 and held the additional charge as chairperson, NCW, from September 29, 2017, before becoming its full-time Chairperson. Under her leadership, NCW has been setting up new milestones and launching new initiatives aimed at empowering women and providing them with support in times of need. Ms. Sharma is an inspiration for women, given her humble background and rise to a leadership position in the society. National Commission For Women
The National Commission for Women (NCW) is the statutory body of the Government of India, generally concerned with advising the government on all policy matters affecting women. It was established on 31 January 1992 under the provisions of the Indian Constitution, as defined in the 1990 National Commission for Women Act. The first head of the commission was Jayanti Patnaik. As of 30 November 2018, Rekha Sharma is the chairperson. Activities The objective of the NCW is to represent the rights of women in India and to provide a voice for their issues and concerns. The subjects of their campaigns have included dowry, politics, religion, equal representation for women in jobs, and the exploitation of women for labour. Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) is a civil service training institute on public policy and public administration in India. The academy's main purpose is to train civil servants of the IAS cadre and also conduct the Foundation Course of Group-A Central Civil Services. After completion of training, the trainee officers of IAS cadre are awarded an MA (Public administration) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.
