Reinbek
Reinbek (; probably from "Rainbek" = brook at the field margin; Northern Low Saxon: ''Reinbeek'') is a town located in Stormarn (district), Stormarn district in the northern Germany, German state of Schleswig-Holstein within the metropolitan region of Hamburg. It is accessed by the Bundesautobahn 1, A1 and the Bundesautobahn 24, A24 autobahn and Bundesstraße 5, federal highway 5. Reinbek was first mentioned in 1226, the city rights were given in 1952. The town is located at the river Bille (Elbe), Bille which was dammed up here to form a mill pond. Reinbek Station
Reinbek is a station on the Berlin-Hamburg railway line and served by the trains of Hamburg S-Bahn line S21. The station was originally opened in 1846 and is located in the town of Reinbek, near Hamburg, Germany. History The station was originally opened on 15 December 1846 on the steam railway line to Berlin. Before 29 September 1968, steam trains served the station, which were originally called the S6 line of the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund, HVV network. They were replaced by diesel locomotives for a few months, but already on 1 June 1969 the electrical S-Bahn was extended to Aumühle station. From 24 May 1994 to 1 June 1997 S-Bahn operation rested behind Bergedorf - the separation of S-Bahn and railway tracks had been completed. Bille (Elbe)
The river Bille () is a small, slow-flowing German river in Stormarn, Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg, a right tributary of the Elbe. Its source is near Linau, north of the heathland Hahnheide forest. It then flows south of Trittau, representing the border between Stormarn and Lauenburg, continues south of Reinbek and reaches the river Elbe near Billwerder. A lot of old estates and tasteful parks are laid out along its riverbank. Its total length is 65 km. The Bille is one of three rivers which flow through the city of Hamburg, the other two being the Elbe and the Alster. Tributaries The upper Bille drains a wide catchment area with many brooks and small stretches of water. Hamburg S-Bahn
The Hamburg S-Bahn is a suburban commuter railway network in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. Together, the S-Bahn, the Hamburg U-Bahn, the AKN railway and the regional railway form the backbone of railway public transport in the city and the surrounding area. The network has operated since 1907 as a commuter rail system, under the direction of the state railway, and is a member of the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV; Hamburg Transport Association). Maximilian Buhk (born 9 December 1992 in Reinbek) is a retired German racing driver. Career Karting Buhk began karting in 2004 and raced only in his native Germany for the majority of his career, working his way up from the junior ranks to progress through to the KF2 category by 2009, when he finished on fifth position in ADAC Kart Masters. ADAC Formel Masters 2010 saw his debut in the ADAC Formel Masters championship with KUG Motorsport. Buhk finished twelfth in the championship with 12 point-scoring finishes. Sabine Sütterlin-Waack (born 15 February 1958, in Reinbek as ''Sabine Schwarz'') is a German lawyer and politician of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU). She currently serves as State Minister of the Interior, Municipal Affairs, Housing and Sports in the State of Schleswig-Holstein. Early life and career Sabine Sütterlin-Waack comes from a Schleswig-Holstein politician family. Angela Sommer-Bodenburg (born December 18, 1948) is the author of a number of fantasy books for children. Her most famous contribution to the field of children's fantasy is '' The Little Vampire'' series, which has sold over 10 million copies and has been translated into over 30 languages. Minna Specht
Minna Specht (22 December 1879 in Schloss Reinbek – 3 February 1961 in Bremen) was a German educator, socialist and member of the German Resistance. She was one of the founders of the Internationaler Sozialistischer Kampfbund. Early years Minna Specht was born the seventh child of Mathilde and Wilhelm Specht (d. 1882). Jan Paul van Aken (born 1 May 1961) is a German biologist and a politician (The Left Party). He was member of German Bundestag from 2009 to 2017. He is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Subcommittee on Disarmament, Arms Control and Non-Proliferation in the German Bundestag. Bundesautobahn 24
is an autobahn in northern Germany that connects the large metropolitan regions of Hamburg and Berlin. It was one of the three transit access roads to West Berlin during the Cold War. On that road, there is a 150 km (93 mi) long section that has no speed limit at all (only a recommended speed of 130 km/h), which means that about 65% of that Autobahn can be driven at very high speed. History Planning for the autobahn began as far back as the 1930s; before World War II numerous bridges and sections of roadside shoulder were built between Hamburg and Berlin. The German divide, however, put a hold on further work and it was not until 1978 that construction was resumed, carried out by a GDR work force and paid for by West Germany.
