Reid Cashman
Reid Cashman (born March 14, 1983) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman, who currently serves as the head coach for the Dartmouth Big Green of the NCAA. Cashman attended Quinnipiac University, where he was a standout defenseman for the Quinnipiac Bobcats men's ice hockey team, recording 23 goals and 125 assists for 148 points in 151 career games with the Bobcats. Upon graduation, Cashman was signed by the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League, and was assigned to play with their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Toronto Marlies. During his AHL career, Cashman also skated with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Milwaukee Admirals. American Hockey League
The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in the United States and Canada that serves as the primary developmental league for the National Hockey League (NHL). Since the 2010–11 season, every team in the league has an affiliation agreement with one NHL team. When NHL teams do not have an AHL affiliate, players are assigned to AHL teams affiliated with other NHL teams. Twenty-six AHL teams are located in the United States and the remaining six are in Canada. The league offices are located in Springfield, Massachusetts, and its current president is Scott Howson. Quinnipiac Bobcats Men's Ice Hockey
The Quinnipiac Bobcats men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Quinnipiac University. The Bobcats are a member of ECAC Hockey. They play at the M&T Bank Arena in Hamden, Connecticut. History Quinnipiac College began sponsoring men's ice hockey as a varsity sport for the 1975–76 season. The program began as an independent team before joining ECAC 3 the following year. The program remained with the third-tier conference for over 20 years despite being a Division II school for much of that time. The Braves left ECAC 3 in 1997 and spent a year as a D-II independent before moving up to Division I as part of the university's transition to the top level. 2022–23 Dartmouth Big Green Men's Ice Hockey Season
The 2022–23 Dartmouth Big Green Men's ice hockey season was the 116th season of play for the program and the 61st in the ECAC Hockey conference. The Big Green represented Dartmouth College and were coached by Reid Cashman, in his second season as head coach. Season After finishing the previous season at the bottom of the conference standings, Dartmouth was hoping to see some improvement in Reid Cashman's second year. Unfortunately, the team had to first contend with replacing its entire stable of goaltenders. Cooper Black eventually won the job and played well in his freshman season. The Big Green allowed roughly the same number of goals per game as they had the year before. While those numbers were nOt necessarily good, they were nOt poor either. The 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began on October 1, 2022, and concluded with the NCAA championship on April 8, 2023. This was the 75th season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship was held, and was US college hockey's 129th year overall. The 2021–22 Dartmouth Big Green Men's ice hockey season was the 115th season of play for the program and the 60th season in the ECAC Hockey conference. The Big Green represented the Dartmouth College and were coached by Reid Cashman, in his 1st season as head coach. Season Dartmouth returned to the ice after their previous season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Big Green began the year with a decent stretch, opening 2–3 with two of their losses coming against ranked teams. After a serviceable start, went winless in 6 consecutive games and ended the first half of their season near the bottom of the conference standings. The Dartmouth College Big Green are the varsity and club athletic teams representing Dartmouth College, an American university located in Hanover, New Hampshire. Defenseman
Defence or defense (in American English) in ice hockey is a player position that is primarily responsible for preventing the opposing team from scoring. They are often referred to as defencemen, D, D-men or blueliners (the latter a reference to the blue line in ice hockey which represents the boundary of the offensive zone; defencemen generally position themselves along the line to keep the puck in the zone).
