''Regine'' is the first studio album by Filipino singer-actress Regine Velasquez, released in 1987 by Viva Records in the Philippines in LP, cassette and CD format and later released on 2002 in digital download. The album was produced by Ronnie Henares, also her manager then. It was composed of original Filipino compositions by Christine Bendebel, Vehnee Saturno and OPM 1980s singer-composer Keno among others, except for "Ebb Tide" originally by Frank Chacksfield & His Orchestra composed by Robert Maxwell and Carl Sigman. The carrier single released is "Kung Maibabalik Ko Lang" together with "Maybe Now, Maybe Then". Background ''Regine'' is Velasquez's first full studio album released after winning champion at RPN 9's Ang Bagong Kampeon singing competition. Although she recorded a song before the album titled "Love Me Again" released through OctoArts, but with her name "Chona Velasquez". Regina Encarnacion Ansong Velasquez ( ; born April 22, 1970) is a Filipina singer, actress, and record producer. She is considered one of the most influential figures in Philippine popular culture and is known for her vocal range and belting technique. She had unorthodox voice training during her childhood, where she was immersed neck-deep in the sea. Velasquez rose to prominence after winning the television talent show ''Ang Bagong Kampeon'' in 1984 and the Asia Pacific Singing Contest in 1989. Under the name Chona, she signed a recording contract with OctoArts International in 1986 and released the single "Love Me Again", which was commercially unsuccessful. Filipino singer Regine Velasquez has released seventeen studio albums, eight soundtrack albums, one live album, fifteen compilation albums, five extended plays (EPs), ninety singles (including nine as featured artist), and twenty-two promotional singles. In 1984, she won the television talent competition '' Ang Bagong Kampeon'' and was signed to a record deal with OctoArts International. She released her first single, "Love Me Again", in 1986, under the name Chona. Tessie Tomas (born October 31, 1950) is a Filipina actress, host, standup comedian, and a former advertising executive. She is best known for being part of the RPN sketch comedy show '' Champoy'' and the host of the ABS-CBN talk show ''Teysi ng Tahanan''. In 1980, Tomas became the first female creative director of the McCann Erickson Philippines. In an interview with GMA Network's ''Tunay Na Buhay'', Tomas recalled working for an ad agency prior to her career as a presenter and actress. Tessie later appeared in both comedic and dramatic roles, notably in the 2012 remake of the film ''Mundo Man ay Magunaw'' and 2015's ''Buena Familia''.
