''Regina: Un Musical Para Una Nación Que Despierta'' (Regina: A musical for an awaking nation) is a musical presented in the San Rafael Theater in Mexico. The musical part of the play was composed by Antonio Calvo, with lyrics by Alex Slucki, based on the novel ''Regina'' (1987) by Antonio Velasco Piña. This play was performed for the first time on March 21, 2003. History This is the very first time Lucero performed in a play. Antonio Velasco Piña
Antonio Velasco Piña (8 September 1935 – 27 December 2020) was a Mexican novelist, spiritual writer and essayist. He was the founder of ''La Nueva Mexicanidad'', a group advocating the ''Mexicanism'' or ''Mexicanista'' (Mexicayotl) movement purportedly based on Aztec religion and Aztec Superiority over all other indigenous tribes. The movement is partly inspired by the writings of French anthropologist Laurette Séjourné who specialized on Aztec and Mesoamerican spirituality. ''El círculo negro'' (2006) presents a conspiracy theory according to which Mexico during the mid 20th century was governed by a secret society called "the black circle" or the descendants of The Aztec Triple Alliance Elite which assassinated Mexican presidents who sought reelection. Lucero Hogaza León (; born 29 August 1969) is a Mexican singer and entertainer. She is a multi-platinum singer in Mexico and has sung in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. ''Amor real'' ( English: ''Royal Love'') is a Mexican telenovela produced by Carla Estrada for Televisa, broadcast by Canal de las Estrellas (now known simply as Las Estrellas). It originally aired from June 9 to October 17, 2003. ''Amor real'' is an historical drama set in the Mexican post-independence period of the mid- 19th century. The telenovela aired on Univision in the United States, REN TV in Russia and La 1 in Spain, among others. It was successfully distributed to many countries worldwide.
