Reger, Missouri
Reger is an unincorporated community in Sullivan County, Missouri, United States. It is located along Missouri Route 6, approximately six miles southwest of Milan. Locust Creek flows past just to the east. Reger was laid out in 1881. The community has the name of O. M. Reger, an early citizen. A post office called Reger was established in 1881, and remained in operation until 1968. Sullivan County, Missouri
Sullivan County is a county located in the northern portion of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 census, the population was 5,999. Its county seat is Milan. The county was organized February 14, 1845 and named for Major General John Sullivan of the American Revolutionary War. History In 1682, René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de la Salle claimed the territory west of the Mississippi River for France, which included present-day Sullivan County. Locust Creek (Grand River Tributary)
Locust Creek is a stream in Wayne County, Iowa and Chariton, Linn, Livingston, Putnam and Sullivan counties in Missouri. It is a tributary of the Grand River. The stream headwaters arise in southeast Wayne County at at an elevation of approximately 1080 feet and three miles west-southwest of Seymour, Iowa. It flows south into Putnam County, Missouri, and passes under US Route 136 six miles west of Unionville. It continues into Sullivan County passing three miles west of Pollock. It continues south roughly parallel to and west of Missouri Route 5 past the west side of Milan, through the Locust Creek Conservation Area and passing east of Reger. Henry Cemetery
Henry Cemetery is a historic cemetery located near Reger, Sullivan County, Missouri. The cemetery was founded in 1841 and contains approximately 200 graves dated prior to 1955. It contains a variety of grave markers from simple limestone slabs with hand carved names to more elaborate Victorian-era stones. The cemetery remains in use.
