Redwoods Lacrosse Club
The Redwoods Lacrosse Club is a professional men's field lacrosse team in Premier Lacrosse League (PLL). The Redwoods are one of the six founding members of the PLL for the 2019 season. Notable players include Matt Kavanagh, Myles Jones, Sergio Perkovic, Ryder Garnsey, Garrett Epple and Jules Heningburg. 2019 Premier Lacrosse League Season
The 2019 Premier Lacrosse League season was the inaugural season of the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL). The season began on Saturday, June 1 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts and culminated with a championship game played on Saturday, September 21 at Talen Energy Stadium, now known as Subaru Park, in the Philadelphia suburb of Chester, Pennsylvania. Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club defeated Redwoods Lacrosse Club to claim the league title. Rutgers Scarlet Knights Men's Lacrosse
The Rutgers Scarlet Knights men's lacrosse team represents Rutgers University main campus in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college lacrosse. The program first started at the varsity level in 1887. The coach is currently Brian Brecht, who is in his eighth year at that position and who joined Rutgers after previously coaching at Siena College. The team plays its home games at SHI Stadium. On July 1, 2014, Rutgers joined the Big Ten Conference in all sports. History Rutgers began playing lacrosse in 1887. The team lasted 3 years, folding in 1889 after it 2–1 season. The program was re-instated in 1920 due in part to the efforts of Harland W. “Tots” Meistrell. In 1926 Fred Fitch took over the program and began a period of national prominence. Brother Rice High School is a Roman Catholic all-boys non-residential college prep school with approximately 590 students located in Bloomfield Township, Michigan, United States in Metro Detroit. The school shares a campus with the all-girls Marian High School, Saint Regis Parish and the K-8 Saint Regis School. History Located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit, Brother Rice was founded by the Congregation of Christian Brothers in 1960 and named after their founder Edmund Ignatius Rice. Brother was originally located on the Continental railroad tracks. The tracks run through a school courtyard to this day. Many tourists each year visit the historic site.
