''Redu'' (also called ''The Radio'') is a 2018 Marathi-Malvani language Indian film directed by Sagar Chhaya Vanjari and produced by Navalkishor Sarda and Vidhi Kasliwal. The film stars Shashank Shende and Chhaya Kadam in lead roles. A Landmarc Films Presentation and a Naval Films Production in association with Blink Motion Pictures, Redu was released in theatres on 18 May 2018 after a successful run in National & International Film Festivals. Plot ''Redu'' is the story of Tatu and his family living in a humble village in Konkan, set in the early 1970s. Tatu a short-tempered, irate middle-aged simpleton, is fascinated and curious to see a ‘redu’, a small portable radio, for the first time in his life. Serendipitous circumstances allow him to possess a ‘redu’ himself. The gadget makes his ordinary life full of excitement and fun. Vidhi Kasliwal
Vidhi Kasliwal is an Indian film director and producer, who is the founder and CEO of Landmarc Films. She has worked for Rajshri Productions, where she wrote and produced documentaries, and worked as an assistant to directors Sooraj R. Barjatya and Kaushik Ghatak. Early life and education Kasliwal grew up in Mumbai, the eldest of four siblings. She went to Villa Theresa High School. She has a B.Com. from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, and went through the Creative Producer's Program at the UCLA Film School. She plays the santoor and the piano, and she is a trained kathak dancer. Career Kasliwal worked as an assistant at Rajshri Productions, and was part of the crew for ''Vivah'' (2006) and '' Ek Vivaah... Aisa Bhi'' (2008). She wrote and directed '' Isi Life Mein...!'', a film produced by Rajshri Productions, which was released in 2010. Shashank Shende
Shashank Shende is an actor, director, producer and writer in India. Early life Shende grew up in Pune till 10th standard, in a middle-class family. He then moved to Ahmednagar for two years before moving back. After college, he started his own business. He got introduced to acting through Satyadev Dubey's workshops and then went on to form his own experimental theatre troupe, ''Samanvay'', with Sandesh Kulkarni, Nikhil Ratnaparkhi, Amruta Subhash and Sonali Kulkarni. He wanted to be a director. Career Shende has appeared in various Hindi and Marathi language films. He was part of the film ''Khwada'',(meaning an "Obstacle"), which received two awards at the 62nd National Film Awards. The film was also shown at the Pune International Film Festival.
