"Rednecker" is a song written and recorded by American country music singer Hardy (singer), Hardy. It was released on March 4, 2019 as his debut single and the first from his EP ''This Ole Boy''. Background In an interview with The Boot, Hardy explained the song's origin. Music video The music video, directed by Justin Clough, was shot on a farm in Cottontown, Tennessee and features some of Hardy's songwriting collaborators: Brett Tyler, Joe Clemmons and Benjy Davis. The group was able to relax and have a fun day just being buddies and hanging out. Their day consisted of mudding, mattress surfing via his jacked-up 4x4, shooting catfish in a lake, paintballing, shotgunning Busch Lights and putting "a little more spit in (his) chaw," contest style. Michael Wilson Hardy (born September 13, 1990), known professionally as Hardy (stylized in all caps), is an American country music singer and songwriter. He has written songs for Florida Georgia Line, Chris Lane, Blake Shelton, Dallas Smith, Thomas Rhett, and Morgan Wallen. He released his debut album ''A Rock'' for Big Loud Records, as well as the mixtape ''Hixtape, Vol. 1.'' He has charted the singles "Rednecker" and "One Beer (Hardy song), One Beer" and was featured on "Some Things Never Change (Dallas Smith song), Some Things Never Change". Early life Michael Wilson Hardy was born September 13, 1990, to Mike and Sarah Hardy, in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Hardy initially fell in love with music because of his dad. Growing up, he would often listen to music with his father, which he has cited as the source of some of his earliest and fondest memories.
