Redan Football Club
The Redan Football Netball Club (nicknamed the ''Lions'') is an Australian rules football and netball club located in the city of Ballarat, Victoria. The football team currently competes in the Ballarat Football League. Redan has a history of 59 Premierships including 11 Senior Football Premierships and was named the Victorian Country Football League Most Disciplined Club in 2004 & 2005. Redan players have also won the Henderson Medal (Ballarat Football League's best player award) on 14 occasions with two players, Michael Smith (1994, 1994) and Jarrod Edwards (2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009) winning the award in consecutive years. Edwards is the first player in BFL history to win four consecutive Henderson Medals. The Ballarat Football League (BFL) is an Australian rules football competition that operates in the Ballarat region of Victoria, Australia. The competition formed in 1893 as the Ballarat Football Association and was renamed Ballarat Football League in 1908 and was briefly known as the Ballarat-Wimmera Football League between 1934 and 1936. Overview The league features 11 senior clubs. North Ballarat City Football Club joined the league in 2008 season raising the number of teams to the present number. North Ballarat City previously played in the Bendigo Football League for the previous two seasons prior to joining. Graham Willey
Graham John Willey (19 July 1933 – 10 February 2021) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Essendon in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Willey, who was a student at Scotch College, made his debut for Essendon in 1955, while on a permit from Redan. Ballarat ( ) is a city in the Central Highlands of Victoria, Australia. At the 2021 Census, Ballarat had a population of 116,201, making it the third largest city in Victoria. Greg Packham
Greg Packham (born 1 March 1959) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with St Kilda in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1980s. From Ballarat, Packham started his career at St Kilda in 1982 and kicked 24 goals from 12 appearances that year. He played just five further games for St Kilda and finished with an unusual statistic of having kicked at least one goal in every one of his 17 league games. The red haired forward then returned to his original club Redan and in 1981 won the Henderson Medal, awarded to the best and fairest player in the Ballarat Football League. He was later named as a forward pocket in Redan's official "Team of the 20th Century". In 1985, he played for Caulfield in the Victorian Football Association, and he finished second in the J. Keith Rawle
Keith Trevillian Rawle (29 October 1924 – 6 March 2005) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Essendon in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1940s. Family He was the son of former North Melbourne and Essendon footballer George Rawle. Football Rawle usually played as a forward pocket and had two stints with Essendon. He was a member of Essendon premiership teams in 1946 and again in 1949 when he kicked three goals in what would be his last game. He also played in three losing Grand Final sides, all of which were close games. In 1943 his team lost to Richmond by five points, in 1947 they were defeated by a point to Carlton and in 1948 Essendon lost a Grand Final replay to Melbourne after drawing the original game. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind").
