Michael Phyland
Michael Phyland (born 29 September 1965) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with the Sydney Swans in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Phyland represented New South Wales at Under 18 Championships in 1982 and won the Larke Medal. He played four seasons for the Swans and made a total of 22 appearances. Mangoplah, New South Wales
Mangoplah is a town approximately south of Wagga Wagga in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia. At the 2016 census, Mangoplah had a population of 309. The name of the town is believed to mean "Kooris singing" in the Wiradjuri aboriginal language. History The first bridge in Mangoplah was built in 1862 from funding of £700 by the NSW Government over Phillitop & Old Man Creek. Cookardinia, New South Wales
Cookardinia is a rural locality in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia. The locality is south of the regional city of Wagga Wagga and east of the town of Henty. Its surrounding area has an approximate population of 283 persons. The place name 'Cookardinia' is derived from the local Aboriginal word meaning "the place of the giant kingfisher", probably a reference to the Kookaburra and hence the phonetic similarity. Only several buildings remain, including the old 'Buckaringa' woolshed on the Cookardinia-Henty Road and the Memorial Hall built in 1925. The 1988 VFL draft, held on the 9th of November 1988, was the third annual national draft held by the VFL/AFL, Victorian Football League (now known as the Australian Football League). The Sydney Swans are a professional Australian rules football club based in Sydney, New South Wales. The AFL Under-19 Championships (for sponsorship reasons, the NAB AFL Under-19 Championships) is an annual Australian national underage representative championship in Australian rules football tournament. It is seen as one of the main pathways towards being drafted into a team in the fully professional Australian Football League (AFL). The National Championships grew out of the Teal Cup which began in 1953 as a junior representative competition between the Australian states of Queensland and New South Wales. The Redan Football Netball Club (nicknamed the ''Lions'') is an Australian rules football and netball club located in the city of Ballarat, Victoria. The football team currently competes in the Ballarat Football League.
