Red Rock is a township in Northwestern Ontario, Canada, located in the Thunder Bay District. The community of Red Rock sits on the shore of Lake Superior, about 16 km west of the Nipigon River where it drains into Nipigon Bay on the north shore of Lake Superior. The population as of 2011 is 942. History During the Second World War, a prisoner of war camp was established here housing primarily German prisoners. The Red Rock Folk Festival, held by the Live From the Rock Folk & Blues Society, is held each year. Nipigon () is a township in Thunder Bay District, Northwestern Ontario, Canada, located along the west side of the Nipigon River and south of the small Lake Helen running between Lake Nipigon and Lake Superior. Heather E. Houston (born February 4, 1959)''Ottawa Citizen, 1 Feb 1988, pg B8, "Rookie skip wins" (Houston was 28) is a Canadian curler and world champion. She is from Red Rock, Ontario and curls out of the Fort William Curling Club in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Curling career Houston won the 1988 and 1991 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, skipping her team. She made her Scotties debut at the 1988 Scott Tournament of Hearts. The team had to win two tie-breakers before winning two playoff games to claim the championship. They defeated the defending champion Pat Sanders. At the 1988 World Championships, the team won the silver medal, losing to Germany's Andrea Schöpp in the final. The Hearts victory gave them a berth at the 1989 Scott Tournament of Hearts. Kraft Paper
Kraft paper or kraft is paper or paperboard (cardboard) produced from chemical pulp produced in the kraft process. Sack kraft paper (or just sack paper) is a porous kraft paper with high elasticity and high tear resistance, designed for packaging products with high demands for strength and durability. Pulp produced by the kraft process is stronger than that made by other pulping processes; acidic sulfite processes degrade cellulose more, leading to weaker fibers, and mechanical pulping processes leave most of the lignin with the fibers, whereas kraft pulping removes most of the lignin present originally in the wood. Low lignin is important to the resulting strength of the paper, as the hydrophobic nature of lignin interferes with the formation of the hydrogen bonds between cellulose (and hemicellulose) in the fibers. The 2016 Canadian census was an enumeration of Canadian residents, which counted a population of 35,151,728, a change from its 2011 population of 33,476,688. The census, conducted by Statistics Canada, was Canada's seventh quinquennial census. The official census day was May 10, 2016. Census web access codes began arriving in the mail on May 2, 2016. The 2016 census marked the reinstatement of the mandatory long-form census, which had been dropped in favour of the voluntary National Household Survey for the 2011 census.
