Red Line (St Louis MetroLink)
The Red Line is the older and longer line of the MetroLink light rail service in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. It serves 29 stations across three counties and two states in Greater St. Louis. History Transit planning along the Airport/Central Corridor began as early as 1971, when it was selected as the region's primary target for further study. In 1983, funding was approved to evaluate five mode alternatives, which culminated in a 1984 draft environmental impact statement. After a series of public hearings, the East–West Gateway Council of Governments, a council composed of the region's local governments, adopted light rail as the preferred mode alternative. The project's capital expense budget was $287.7 million (equivalent to $ in dollars), which covered design and engineering, procurement, construction, and testing. Interstate 64 In Missouri
Interstate 64 (I-64) passes through the Greater St. Louis area in the US state of Missouri. The entire route overlaps U.S. Route 40 (US 40). Because the road was a main thoroughfare in the St. Louis area before the development of the Interstate Highway System, it is not uncommon for locals to refer to the stretch of highway as "Highway 40" rather than "I-64". On December 6, 2009, the portion of the highway running through the city of St. Louis was named the Jack Buck Memorial Highway in honor of the late sportscaster. Route description I-64 begins at an interchange with I-70, US 40, and US 61 in St. Charles County and heads south. Previously, the freeway was a divided highway signed only as US 40 with at-grade intersections, which were slowly converted to limited-access exits. The final intersection at Callahan Road was removed on October 14, 2009. The next major exit is for Route N and the western terminus of Route 364. ...

The oldest African-American community to be incorporated in Missouri, Kinloch was home to a vibrant and flourishing black community for much of the 19th and 20th century. It began to decline in the 1980s, when the City of St. Louis began to buy up property due to an FAA noise-abatement program for nearby St. Louis Lambert International Airport. Between 1990 and 2000, Kinloch lost more than 80 percent of its population, and the city became an increasingly violent and dangerous place to live. In recent years, there have been efforts to rebuild the city. History The current city of Kinloch grew up around Kinloch Park, a commuter suburb first developed in the 1890s. A Mrs. "B" and her husband are thought to be the first black family to purchase a home in Kinloch Park. As soon as the neighbors discovered the new owners were black they sold their properties, and new sales to ...
