''Red Clay'' is a 1927 American silent Western film directed by Ernst Laemmle and starring William Desmond, Marceline Day and Albert J. Smith.Connelly p.400 Synopsis Native American John Nisheto serves with the American Army in France during World War I where he saves the life of Jack Burr, the son of a senator. Back in the United States Jack, not realising it is the same man who saved him, objects to John's courting of his sister due to his ethnicity despite John's success as a scholar and athlete. Ernst Laemmle
Ernst Laemmle (1900–1950) was a German screenwriter and film director. He was the nephew of Universal Pictures founder Carl Laemmle and like many of his relatives he was brought over to America to work for the studio. Ernst directed a number of short western films during the silent era. He also directed films for Universal's German subsidiary. During the 1930s he worked as Universal's foreign dialogue supervisor.Jacobs p.153 He was the brother of director Edward Laemmle who was also employed by Universal. Ynez Seabury (June 26, 1907 – April 11, 1973) was an American actress of the stage, silent and early sound film era. She began her career as a child actor, making her screen debut in D. W. Griffith's ''The Miser's Heart'' (1911). She appeared on Broadway and occasionally appear in films during the early sound era. Her last credited feature film appearance was in Cecil B. Noble Johnson (April 18, 1881 – January 9, 1978), later known as Mark Noble, was an American actor and film producer. He appeared in films such as ''The Mummy'' (1932), ''The Most Dangerous Game'' (1932), ''King Kong'' (1933) and ''Son of Kong'' (1933). Biography Standing 6'2" and weighing 215 pounds, Johnson had an impressive physique that made him in demand as a character actor and bit player.
