Red Bull Unleashed
Red Bull Unleashed was a surfing competition held on 18/19 September 2015 at Surf Snowdonia in Dolgarrog, north Wales. The artificial wave pool, owned by Conwy Adventure Leisure Ltd, is the world's first commercial artificial surfing lake and the United Kingdom's only artificial surfing lake. It opened in August 2015. Red Bull Unleashed was the first major event to be held at Surf Snowdonia, and was the world's first-ever stadium surf contest. Qualification for Red Bull Unleashed took place on the previous day, 17 September, when 24 competitors were seeded following surfing on 6 waves, and the 16 main finalists selected. The event, attended by over 2000 spectations on the final day, was won by Hawaiian surfer Albee Layer, who beat New Zealander Billy Stairmand. Evan Geiselman
Evan Geiselman (born August 31, 1993 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida) has been a competing surfer since the age of seven. He has won 12 East Coast Championship titles. He is the younger brother of professional surfer Eric Geiselman. He has been trying to be part of the ASP World Championship Tour for three years now, but the Qualification Series are competitive. He didn't get the results he was hoping for on the 2014 WQS. At the beginning of 2014, he moved from San Clemente, California back home, to New Smyrna Beach, Florida. In March 2008, Geiselman started competing in surf competitions at the NSSA East Coast Nationals at Florida's Sebastian Inlet, leaving with victories in Open Juniors, Open Airshow and Explorer Boys. He also took the highest single-wave score in the Open Juniors division. His other interests besides surfing include hunting and fishing. He won the US Open Pro Jr. on a stock board. Leonardo Fioravanti (surfer)
Leonardo Fioravanti (born 8 December 1997) is a surfer who represented Italy at the 2020 Summer Olympics, the first surfer from Italy to compete in the newly-added Olympic surfing competition. Career Fioravanti competed in the 2016 US Open for surfing, pushing himself to compete despite injuries incurred during practice prior to the competition. He was eliminated in the contest, with indications that his injury contributed to his performance. He would go on to compete as the first surfer from Italy to perform at the inaugural Olympic surfing competition, replacing Jordy Smith from South Africa, who dropped out due to an injury. A wave pool is a swimming pool in which there are artificially generated, large waves, similar to those of the ocean. Wave pools are often a major feature of water parks, both indoors and outdoors, as well as some leisure centres. History The origins of wave pools go as far back as the 19th century, as famous fantasy castle builder Ludwig II of Bavaria electrified a lake to create breaking waves.
