Rebecca Moore (born May 21, 1968) is an American musician, actress and animal rights activist. Notable for her participation at a very young age in performance art and experimental theater productions, and for her own music, she is also known to some as a muse of the singer Jeff Buckley. She is the daughter of Peter Moore, a photographer of experimental art and artists in NYC (from the 1950s through his death in 1993) and his wife, Barbara, an art historian. After slightly over two decades of work devoted to experimental art, music and activist realms in NYC (1984–2007) Moore went to work in areas of animal rescue & care and animal rights advocacy. Miss Alabama USA, previously known as Miss Alabama Universe, is the beauty pageant that selects the representative for the state of Alabama in the Miss USA pageant, and the name of the title held by its winner. The pageant is directed by RPM Productions. Alabama's most successful placement was in 1967, when Sylvia Hitchcock was crowned Miss USA. She later went on to be crowned Miss Universe 1967 as well. Alabama's most recent placement was in 2020, when Kelly Hutchinson placed as the fourth runner-up. The current Miss Alabama USA is Sophie Burzynski of Auburn, Alabama, who was crowned on January 28, 2022 at Jay & Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center in Auburn. Burzynski will represent Alabama at Miss USA 2023. Rebecca Moore (born 1955) is an American software engineer, director of Google Earth, and director and founder of the Google Earth Outreach and Google Earth Engine computer mapping projects. Early life and career Moore grew up in Roslyn, New York, with one sister and two brothers. Her father, Earle K. Moore, was a communications and civil rights lawyer in Manhattan, who won a landmark case establishing that broadcast stations must serve the interests of their viewers. Her brother, Frank C. Moore, was an artist and activist, including being an originator of the Red Ribbon project for AIDS solidarity.
