Miss Alabama USA, previously known as Miss Alabama Universe, is the beauty pageant that selects the representative for the state of Alabama in the Miss USA pageant, and the name of the title held by its winner. The pageant is directed by RPM Productions. Alabama's most successful placement was in 1967, when Sylvia Hitchcock was crowned Miss USA. She later went on to be crowned Miss Universe 1967 as well. Alabama's most recent placement was in 2020, when Kelly Hutchinson placed as the fourth runner-up. The current Miss Alabama USA is Sophie Burzynski of Auburn, Alabama, who was crowned on January 28, 2022 at Jay & Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center in Auburn. Burzynski will represent Alabama at Miss USA 2023. Miss America
Miss America is an annual competition that is open to women from the United States between the ages of 17 and 25. Originating in 1921 as a "bathing beauty revue", the contest is now judged on competitors' talent performances and interviews. As of 2018, there is no longer a swimsuit portion to the contest, or consideration of physical appearance. Miss America travels about 20,000 miles a month, changing her location every 24 to 48 hours, touring the nation and promoting her particular platform of interest. The winner is crowned by the previous year's titleholder. The current Miss America is Grace Stanke of Wisconsin, who was crowned Miss America 2023 on December 15, 2022. Miss USA 2022
Miss USA 2022 was the 71st Miss USA pageant. The competition was held on October 3, 2022 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada and was broadcast on the FYI cable channel. The competition was hosted by Zuri Hall for the second consecutive year, while Julissa Bermudez and Micah Jesse served as sideline correspondents. This competition was also rebroadcast on October 19, 2022 on the official YouTube channel. Elle Smith of Kentucky crowned R'Bonney Gabriel of Texas as her successor at the end of the event. She will go on to represent the United States at Miss Universe 2022. This was Texas' tenth Miss USA title and first win in 14 years. The Miss Georgia's Teen competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the U.S. state of Georgia in the Miss America's Teen pageant. The pageant is held each June in Columbus, Georgia. Rebecca Zhang of Johns Creek was crowned Miss Georgia's Outstanding Teen on June 18, 2022, at the RiverCenter of the Performing Arts in Columbus, Georgia.
