Real Time (Italy)
Real Time (Discovery Real Time until August 31, 2010) is an Italian television channel owned by Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA. The channel launched on October 1, 2005, becoming the sixth Discovery network to launch in Italy. It showed lifestyle programmes targeting a female upper-class audience of 25- to 44-year-olds. It features both foreign programmes and Italian programmes produced for the channel. On April 7, 2009, the channel adopted a new logo and a new look. This look had previously been adopted by Discovery Real Time France. After becoming the most viewed non-fiction entertainment channel on the Sky Italia platform, on September 1, 2010, it changed its name to "Real Time", and became available both on digital terrestrial television, digital terrestrial and via free-to-air satellite, also joining the Tivùsat platform. 1080i
1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video. The number "1080" refers to the number of horizontal lines on the screen. The "i" is an abbreviation for "interlaced"; this indicates that only the even lines, then the odd lines of each frame (each image called a video field) are drawn alternately, so that only half the number of actual image frames are used to produce video. A related display resolution is 1080p, which also has 1080 lines of resolution; the "p" refers to progressive scan, which indicates that the lines of resolution for each frame are "drawn" on the screen in sequence. The term assumes a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9 (a rectangular TV that is wider than it is tall), so the 1080 lines of vertical resolution implies 1920 columns of horizontal resolution, or 1920 pixels × 1080 lines. SDTV
Standard-definition television (SDTV, SD, often shortened to standard definition) is a television system which uses a resolution that is not considered to be either high or enhanced definition. "Standard" refers to it being the prevailing specification for broadcast (and later, cable) television in the mid- to late-20th century, and compatible with legacy analog broadcast systems. The two common SDTV signal types are 576i, with 576 interlaced lines of resolution, derived from the European-developed PAL and SECAM systems, and 480i based on the American NTSC system. Common SDTV refresh rates are 25, 29.97 and 30 frames per second. Both systems use a 4:3 aspect ratio. Standards that support digital SDTV broadcast include DVB, ATSC, and ISDB. ''Il castello delle cerimonie'' (previously titled ''Il boss delle cerimonie''; known in the UK as ''My Crazy Italian Wedding'') is a 2014 Italian weekday television series, that currently airs on TLC (originally on Real Time), originally hosted by Antonio Polese. It takes place at the Grand Hotel ''La Sonrisa''. Antonio Polese died on December 1, 2016, aged 80, at the Pineta Grande Clinic in Castel Volturno because of the heart failure he had suffered from since October. However, it was confirmed that some episodes for the fifth season had already been filmed, and that Real Time would broadcast such episodes during the spring of 2017. Following these episodes there would be others without Don Antonio. Since October 6, 2017 the sixth season of the program has aired, which, following the death of Don Antonio (the ''Boss''), changed its title into ''Il castello delle cerimonie'' ("The Castle of Ceremonies").
