ReBoot (Sam Brown Album)
''ReBoot'' is the fifth studio album from English female singer-songwriter Sam Brown, which was released in the UK by Mud Hut Records in 2000. It was released in the Netherlands the following year on the label Coast to Coast. Background Speaking of the album, Brown said in 2000, "The first thing I should say is I decided for the first time I would produce at least part of my own album lone– although I'd done it for my mum. It's a big step and I didn't really have that much confidence. But my brother Pete was so positive." A single, "In Light of All That's Gone Before", was released from the album. Brown said of the track in 2000, "When the band first played this song it sounded like Katrina and the Waves. That wasn't the idea at all because I'd got much more into blues and soul having worked with Jools a lot and I wanted a more contemporary vibe so I ended up doing it with samples and vocals." Samantha Brown (born 7 October 1964) is an English singer, musician and songwriter. Brown is a blue-eyed soul and jazz singer, and ukulele and piano player. She came to prominence in the late 1980s as a solo artist, and released six singles that entered the UK Singles Chart during the 1980s and 1990s. Her solo singles, sometimes dealing with lost love, include " Stop!", " This Feeling", "Can I Get a Witness", "Kissing Gate", " With a Little Love" and "Just Good Friends". ''Box'' is the fourth studio album from English female singer-songwriter Sam Brown. It was released in 1997 by Demon Records. ''Box'' peaked at No. 207 on Australia's ARIA Charts. The album's first single, "I Forgive You", peaked at No. 192 on the ARIA charts. "Whisper" was issued as a promotional single in the UK. The album sold approximately 17,000 copies. Katrina And The Waves
Katrina and the Waves were a British rock band widely known for the 1985 hit " Walking on Sunshine". They also won the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Love Shine a Light". History Pre-history (1975–1980) The band's earliest incarnation was as the Waves, a group that played in and around Cambridge, from 1975 to 1977. The Waves featured guitarist Kimberley Rew and drummer Alex Cooper. This incarnation of the Waves never issued any recordings, and broke up when Rew left to join the Soft Boys. A more direct ancestor of Katrina and the Waves was the band Mama's Cookin', a pop cover band from Feltwell. Julian Miles Holland, (born 24 January 1958) is an English pianist, bandleader, singer, composer and television presenter. Margo Buchanan is a Scottish singer-songwriter, composer, musician, and recording artist. In a career spanning more than 30 years, Buchanan is best known for her work as a session backing vocalist. Christopher Holland
Christopher William Holland is an English keyboard player, singer and songwriter. He is the younger brother of pianist and band-leader Jools Holland. Career Holland left school at 16 to concentrate on his first band, B Sharp, with twin brother Richard on drums and school friend Lisa Covington on guitar. They were signed to Miles Copeland's label I.R.S. Records in the early 1980s, toured the UK and released two singles with producers Pascal Gabriel and Dennis Herring before going their separate ways. Claudia Fontaine (26 August 1960 – 13 March 2018) was an backing vocalist from Peckham, London. Career During the 1980s, Fontaine and fellow backing vocalist Caron Wheeler (and later, third member Naomi Thompson) were known as Afrodiziak. She made an appearance in the video "Back to Life (However Do You Want Me)" with Soul II Soul.
