Publio Amable Raúl Martínez González, known as Raúl Martínez, (1 November 1927 – 2 April 1995) was a Cuban painter, designer, photographer, muralist, and graphic artist. He is best known for colorful pop-art portraits of leading Cuban political figures including José Martí and Camilo Cienfuegos. Martínez was born in Ciego de Ávila and studied in Havana and at the San Alejandro Academy in Havana, Cuba, and later at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His early works were abstract, moving towards figurative work later in his career. After the Cuban Revolution of 1959, Martínez helped the foundation of the Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC), Casa de las Américas and the Cuban Book Institute, through his career as a freelance graphic artist. Raúl Ascención Martínez Rodríguez (born 1 April 1987) is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Early life Martínez was born in Xochitlán and joined the youth academy of C.F. Pachuca. Club career Martínez started his career with Pachuca Juniors, where he made over forty-four league appearances. He made his professional debut on 30 July 2005, during a 2–1 win over CF Monterrey. Raúl Martínez Sambulá (born 14 March 1963) is a former Honduran professional football player, who made his name with the national team in the early 1990s. Club career Martínez Sambulá started his career at C.D. Olimpia, Olimpia and then moved abroad for a lengthy spell at Mexican side Correcaminos UAT, UA Tamaulipas. He returned to Honduras in 1994 to finish his career at C.D. Victoria, Victoria.
