Raúl González (handballer)
Raúl González Gutiérrez (born 8 January 1970) is a Spanish retired handball player who competed in the 1996 Summer Olympics and current coach of Paris Saint-Germain. Biography In 1996 he was a member of the Spanish handball team which won the bronze medal. He played six matches and scored five goals. After his career in late 2005 was Raúl González assistant coach of Talant Duyshebaev at BM Ciudad Real and his successor BM Atlético Madrid. Following the withdrawal of Madrid in the summer of 2013. He was without a club. In January 2014 he took over as coach at the Macedonian club RK Vardar. With Vardar he won the 2016–2017 EHF Champions League as a head coach, 2016–2017 SEHA League and many domestic league and cup titles. In the 2013–14 EHF Champions League he turned in the second round to defending champion HSV Hamburg made, before he lost in the quarterfinals of the SG Flensburg-Handewitt due to the away goals rule. Valladolid
Valladolid () is a municipality in Spain and the primary seat of government and de facto capital of the autonomous community of Castile and León. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. LNH Division 1, doing business as Starligue and currently known as Liqui Moly Starligue for sponsorship reasons, is the premier men's professional handball league in France. It is administered by the Ligue Nationale de Handball, under delegation from the French Handball Federation. Founded in 1952, it is currently contested by 16 teams. Montpellier Handball is the most successful club with 14 titles, and the club which won the most consecutive titles is Paris Saint-Germain with 8 between 2015 and 2022. The champion and the vice-champion are directly qualified for the group phase of the EHF Champions League. The 2016–17 EHF Champions League was the 57th edition of Europe's premier club handball tournament and the 24th edition under the current EHF Champions League format. Vardar were crowned champions for the first time, defeating Paris Saint-Germain Handball Competition format Twenty-eight teams participated in the competition, divided in four groups. Groups A and B were played with eight teams each, in a round robin, home and away format. 2017–18 SEHA League
The 2017–18 SEHA League season was the seventh season of the SEHA (South East Handball Association) League and fourth under the sponsorship of the Russian oil and gas company Gazprom. Ten teams from six countries (Belarus, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia) participated in this year's competition. Vardar are the defending champions. The SEHA League consists of two phases – the first one has 18 rounds in which all teams play one home and one away games against each other.
