Ray Janssen
Ray Janssen (born July 5, 1937 in Hooper, Nebraska) served as a Nebraska state senator from Nickerson, Nebraska in the Nebraska Legislature from 1993 to 2009 and as a grocer. __NOTOC__ Janssen graduated from Hooper Public School. He was also in the U.S. Army. He was formerly the president of both Nickerson and Logan View school boards and is currently a member of the Nickerson volunteer fire department, Lions Club, and Hooper Commercial Club. State legislature Janssen was elected in 1992 to represent the 15th Nebraska legislative district. He was reelected in 1996, 2000, and 2004. He sat on the Revenue, Urban Affairs, and Building Maintenance committees and chaired the Revenue committee. Charlie Janssen
Charlie Janssen (born January 15, 1971) is an American politician from the U.S. state of Nebraska. A member of the Republican Party, Jansen served in the Nebraska Legislature from 2009 to 2014; in 2014, he was elected Nebraska Auditor of Public Accounts. Janssen was born in Fremont, Nebraska. He graduated with a BS from Wayne State College in 1997. Janssen served in the United States Navy from 1989 to 1993. He lives in Fremont, and has two children, Charlie Jr. and Betsy Anne. Janssen served on the Fremont City Council before being elected to the Nebraska legislature. In 2008, he was elected to represent the 15th Nebraska legislative district replacing his uncle, Ray Janssen of Nickerson. Hooper, Nebraska
Hooper is a city in Dodge County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 830 at the 2010 census. History Hooper got its start in the year 1871, following construction of the Fremont, Elkhorn and Missouri Valley Railroad through the territory. It was named for Samuel Hooper, a US congressman from Massachusetts. By the mid-1970s, the future of railroad service came into question. The Chicago & North Western (C&NW) (successor to the FE&MV RR) tracks were experiencing mildly declining freight traffic levels. In spring of 1982, flooding from the Elkhorn River & nearby Pebble Creek damaged the track. With the declining freight traffic levels & flooding damage, the C&NW promptly filed a request with the Interstate Commerce Commission to abandon the line. Permission was granted later that year, leaving the tracks with a dismal future.
