Ray Egan (rugby Union)
Ray Egan is a rugby union coach. Egan was the head coach the PRO Rugby team San Diego Breakers. Egan is originally from Limerick, Ireland, and played rugby for Loughborough University in England. Egan held several coaching roles in Ireland. Egan coached the Cashel Rugby Club, which play in the All-Ireland League, Division 2A. Egan had roles with the Ireland-based Munster Rugby team as well as with the Irish Rugby Football Union. Egan moved to the United States in 2011. Munster Rugby ( ga, Rugbaí Mumhan) is one of the four professional provincial rugby teams from the island of Ireland. They compete in the United Rugby Championship and the European Rugby Champions Cup. The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) ( ga, Cumann Rugbaí na hÉireann) is the body managing rugby union in the island of Ireland (both Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland). The IRFU has its head office at 10/12 Lansdowne Road and home ground at Aviva Stadium, where adult men's Irish rugby union international matches are played. Belmont Shore Rugby Club is an American rugby union team named after the Belmont Shore neighborhood of Long Beach, California, which has a tradition of amateur rugby. History The Belmont Shore team was founded in 1974, and was one of the original US Rugby Super League teams in 1997. The team has been in the Super League Finals in seven of the past ten championships. They have been league champions four times, most recently in 2007. San Diego Breakers
The San Diego Breakers were an United States, American professional rugby union team that played in the short lived PRO Rugby competition. They were based in San Diego, California, and played their home games at Torero Stadium. History PRO Rugby announced on January 22, 2016 the addition of San Diego as the league's third team. Irishman Ray Egan was announced on February 11, 2016 as the team's head coach in the competition's inaugural 2016 season. San Diego played their inaugural season home opener in April 2016 against Sacramento before a crowd of 2,500.
