Ray Bennion
Samuel Raymond Bennion (1 September 1896 – 12 March 1968) was a Welsh footballer who played as a right-half in the Football League in the 1920s and 1930s. In his early life, he played for Gwersyllt School. He then had spells at Ragtimes and Crichton's Athletic, with whom he won the Cheshire County Challenge Cup before joining Manchester United in April 1921. His debut for United came on 27 August 1921 against Everton at Goodison Park. After scoring three goals in 301 appearances for the club, he moved to Burnley in November 1932, and was appointed as a coach there two years later. Summerhill, Wrexham
Summerhill ( cy, Brynhyfryd, ) is a semi-urban village in the suburbs of Wrexham, Wales and forms part of the community of Gwersyllt. Industry and History In the 19th and early 20th century, Summerhill was predominantly focused around local farming or coalmining industries, however there was also nearby Brymbo Steelworks and Bersham Ironworks for those who could travel. The nearest colliery was Westminster Colliery, located within the Moss Valley. Most of the area's coalmining industry was closed by the mid 20th century. Remnants of the area's former industrial history include disused features such as railway trackbeds, bridges and tunnels, particularly surrounding the Moss Valley areas. Ninian Park
Ninian Park was a football stadium in the Leckwith area of Cardiff, Wales, that was the home of Cardiff City F.C. for 99 years. Opened in 1910 with a single wooden stand, it underwent numerous renovations during its lifespan and hosted fixtures with over 60,000 spectators in attendance. At the time of its closure in 2009, it had a capacity of 21,508. Cardiff City had originally been playing home fixtures at Sophia Gardens but the lack of facilities at the ground had prevented them from joining the Southern Football League. To combat this, club founder Bartley Wilson secured a plot of land from Cardiff Corporation that had previously been used as a rubbish tip and construction of a new ground began in 1909. Goodison Park is a football stadium in the Walton area of Liverpool, England. It has been the home stadium of Premier League club Everton F.C. since its completion in 1892. The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. It was the top-level football league in England from its foundation until 1992, when the top 22 clubs split from it to form the Premier League.
