Raven Rock, New Jersey
Raven Rock is an unincorporated community and hamlet along the Delaware River approximately north of Stockton along New Jersey Route 29. The hamlet was known earlier as Saxtonville. It is located within Delaware Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. It is the site of Bull's Island Recreation Area. The rock outcrop for which it is named is the southwest corner of the Hunterdon Plateau. The Lumberville–Raven Rock Bridge is a free pedestrian bridge over the Delaware River, owned and operated by the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission. The bridge, formerly a road bridge from 1856 to 1944, connects Bull's Island Recreation Area to Lumberville, Solebury Township, Pennsylvania. |

Hunterdon Plateau
Hunterdon Plateau is a plateau in western Hunterdon County, New Jersey. It borders the higher Musconetcong Mountain to the northwest, the Delaware River to the west, Amwell Valley to the south and the lower lying areas of the Newark Basin to the east. The plateau's edge follows a line from Raven Rock to Flemington. From there it follows a curved path west of the South Branch Raritan River until it meets with the Musconetcongs. It is generally unmarred as a plateau, excluding some of the small valleys of tributaries along the Delaware, of Lopatcong Creek and Wickecheoke Creek and Cakepoulin/Capoolong Creek Valley. Other features are Thatcher's Hill and Sand Hill which form southeastward extensions to the plateau due to a valley of Walnut Brook and the curve of the plateau there. The Belvidere-Delaware Railroad (Bel-Del, 1851–1871) was a railroad running along the eastern shore of the Delaware River from Trenton, New Jersey north via Phillipsburg, New Jersey to the small village of Manunka Chunk, New Jersey. Solebury Township, Pennsylvania
Solebury Township is a township in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 8,709 at the 2020 census. History Migrating English Quakers began to settle down in an area of Buckingham Township. Around 1702, this area was incorporated into a new township called Solebury—carved out of lands deeded to William Penn. Records indicate that sometime in 1703, Solebury Township had 24 landowners and farmers owning 28 tracts of land, each averaging about 414 acres. Solebury Township once included the area of present-day New Hope until the incorporation of The Borough of New Hope in 1837. Settlers began to move to Solebury Township after hearing about the township's fertile soils and location on the Delaware River. Lumberville, Pennsylvania
Lumberville is a village on the Delaware River in Solebury Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located seven miles north of New Hope and is situated along River Road. Its ZIP Code is 18933. The village was settled by Colonel George Wall, a Revolutionary War officer and Bucks County sheriff. He acquired 15 acres of land in 1775 and established two saw mills, a general store, and a school for surveyors. As such, it was originally named ''Wall's Saw Mills'' and ''Walls Landing''. The mills changed hands frequently over the next century and were ultimately abandoned in the late 1800s. The Black Bass Hotel was built in the early 1740s. It had many names over the years including Wall's Tavern, The Lumberville Hotel, Temple Bar, and The Rising Sun. Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission
The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC) is a bistate, public agency that maintains and operates river crossings connecting the U.S. states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The agency's jurisdiction stretches roughly along the Delaware River, from the Philadelphia/ Bucks County, PA. boundary northward to the New Jersey/New York state line. The DRJTBC currently operates eight toll bridges and 12 toll-supported (free) bridges (two of which are pedestrian-only crossings), as well as 34 approach structures throughout its jurisdiction. The Lumberville–Raven Rock Bridge, also known as the Lumberville Foot Bridge, is a free pedestrian bridge over the Delaware River. The bridge connects Bull's Island Recreation Area near Raven Rock, Delaware Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey to Lumberville, Solebury Township in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The bridge, which is one of the two exclusively pedestrian bridges over the Delaware River, is owned and operated by the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission. Bull's Island Recreation Area
The Bull's Island Recreation Area is on Bull's Island at Raven Rock along the Delaware River approximately north of Stockton, within Delaware Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The park is a part of the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park. It offers a boat launch, fishing, and a nature trail. Canoes, kayaks, tubes, and rafts can be rented three miles north in Point Pleasant. The surrounding park includes a portion of the D&R Canal Trail, a multi-use trail built on the former Belvidere-Delaware Railroad bed that runs along the island on a north-south route. The park is operated and maintained by the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry.
