Ratu Bumi Malaysia is an annual national beauty pageant that selects Malaysia's representative to the Miss Earth pageant. On occasion, when the winner does not qualify (due to age) for either contest, a runner-up is sent. The reigning titleholder is Manvin Khera from Kuala Lumpur. She will represent Malaysia at Miss Earth 2023. History Miss Earth Malaysia is one of the beauty pageant in Malaysia that has the focus on educating and empowering others about the knowledge of natural beauty, sustainability and eco-tourism. The pageant serves as a platform to educate the contestants about the environmental issues, promote eco-tourism and create a healthy aspect of cordial relationship among its participants. Miss Earth 2016
Miss Earth 2016, the 16th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, with the theme "Empowered to make a Change", was held on October 29, 2016, at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines. 83 contestants from all over the world competed for the title. Angelia Ong of the Philippines crowned her successor Katherine Espín of Ecuador at the end of the event becoming the second Ecuadorian woman to win the title of Miss Earth and the first since Olga Álava in 2011. This year's edition also features the newly polished and modified crown created by Florida-based jeweler, ''Ramona Haar''. The crown's original design from the 2009 edition of the pageant to enhance the crown's general appearance and to have an intimate fit to the head of the winner. Miss Earth 2005, the 5th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, was held on October 23, 2005, in Quezon City, Philippines. A total of 80 candidates from around the globe took part in the event. At the conclusion of the pageant, Alexandra Braun of Venezuela was crowned Miss Earth 2005 by outgoing titleholder, Miss Earth 2004, Priscilla Meirelles of Brazil. Miss Earth 2006
Miss Earth 2006, the 6th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, was held on November 26, 2006, at the grounds of the National Museum in Manila, Philippines. The pageant was won by Hil Hernández of Chile and crowned by outgoing titleholder, Miss Earth 2005, Alexandra Braun. The event was originally intended to be held in Santiago, Chile on 15 November, and would be the first Miss Earth pageant outside of the Philippines and as well in Asia, but the Chilean organizers did not meet requirements. In the end, pageant owners Carousel Productions decided to hold the pageant in the Philippines, where all previous Miss Earth pageants had been held, despite having less than two months to prepare for the event. Miss Earth 2007, the 7th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, was held on November 12, 2007 at the University of the Philippines Theater, inside the campus of the University of the Philippines Diliman in Quezon City, Philippines. 30 delegates also visited Nha Trang, Vietnam. 88 delegates competed for the title, making 2007 the largest edition of delegates for Miss Earth. Miss Earth 2011, the 11th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, was held on December 3, 2011 at the University of the Philippines Theater, inside the campus of the University of the Philippines Diliman in Quezon City, Philippines. Josephine Tan Yee Mei (born 7 April 1990) is a Malaysian model and a beauty pageant titleholder. In 2016, she became the first ever Malaysian to win Supermodel International. Personal life Tan was born in Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia but lives in Kuala Lumpur. She is of a Chinese ancestry. She graduated as a broadcasting major in St. John's University of New York.
