The Bucharest Metro ( ro, Metroul din București) is an underground rapid transit system that serves Bucharest, the capital of Romania. It first opened for service on 16 November 1979. The network is run by Metrorex. One of two parts of the larger Bucharest public transport network, Metrorex has an average of approximately 720,000 passenger trips per weekday (as of 2018), compared to the 1,180,000 daily riders on Bucharest's STB transit system. In total, the Metrorex system is long and has 64 stations. Obor Metro Station
Obor is a metro station in Bucharest, located next to one of the largest open-air markets in Bucharest, Obor. The station was closed for over 10 months, until May 25, 2008, for refurbishment and in order to facilitate the building of a new overground passage for the tram above ground. This station is painted in blue, with pillars separating the two parts of the station. It is currently served by the M1 line. Connections with STB services are 1, 21, 46 (trams), 330 and 335 (buses). The current station was built in 1979 once with the completion of the Obor underpass. Before 1989 a tram line used to run where the current station is located, integrating a tram stop in the underpass. Grozăvești Metro Station
Grozăvești is a metro station in Bucharest, Romania, on the Metro Line M1. It is located on the banks of the Dâmbovița River, next to Politehnica University of Bucharest (it is one of the three metro stations servicing the university), the Regie and the Grozăvești student campuses, the CET Grozăvești thermal power station, the Carrefour Orhideea shopping centre, and the impressive Basarab overpass. Grozăvești was inaugurated on 19 November 1979 as part of the first line of the Bucharest Metro, between Semănătoarea and Timpuri Noi, and is currently servicing the M1 metro line.
