Rantau
Rantau (Chinese: 晏斗) is a small town and a mukim in Seremban District, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. Location Rantau is 16 km south of downtown Seremban, 20 km ENE of Port Dickson and 49 km south-east of Kajang, Selangor. It is surrounded by several hamlets including Kuala Sawah, Siliau, Pedas and Ayer Kuning, and is the main town in the region with facilities like banks, mini market, quick-service restaurants and a post office. Society The community contains five primary schools and two secondary schools. Rantau supports a multiracial population of around 8,000 people. Former Menteri Besar, Mohamad Hasan is Rantau's representative in the State Assembly since 2004. Rantau has many notable successful people. The Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly ( ms, Dewan Undangan Negeri Sembilan) is the state legislature of the Malaysian state of Negeri Sembilan. It consists of 36 members who represent single-member constituencies throughout the state. Federal Route 53, or Jalan Seremban–Port Dickson, is a federal road in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, connecting Seremban to Port Dickson. The 33.2 km (20.6 mi) Federal Route 53 became the backbone of the road system linking Seremban to Port Dickson before being surpassed by the Seremban–Port Dickson Highway (E29) in 1998. The Kilometre Zero of the Federal Route 53 is located at Port Dickson, at its interchange with the Federal Route 5, the main trunk road of the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Seremban (Negeri Sembilan Malay: ''Soghomban'', ''Somban''; Jawi: ) is a city in the Seremban District and the capital of the state of Negeri Sembilan in Peninsular Malaysia.
