Rantanplan (band)
Rantanplan (; alternatively spelled Ran-Tan-Plan and Ran Tan Plan) is a fictional hound dog created by a Belgian cartoonist Morris and French writer René Goscinny. Originally a supporting character in the '' Lucky Luke'' series, Rantanplan later starred in self-titled series. Rantanplan is a spoof of the male German Shepherd Rin Tin Tin. In the Turkish translations of the series, he is indeed named Rin Tin Tin. (Lucky Luke in Istanbul), Haberturk, 5 June 2012. Société Dargaud, doing business as Les Éditions Dargaud, is a publisher of Franco-Belgian comics series, headquartered in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. It was founded in 1936 by Georges Dargaud (), publishing its first comics in 1943. History Initially, Dargaud published novels for women. In 1948, it started '' Line'', a "magazine for elegant women", as well as a French edition of the Belgian ''Tintin'' magazine. In 1960, Dargaud bought the weekly ''Pilote'' magazine from René Goscinny, Albert Uderzo, and Jean-Michel Charlier. Goscinny continued as editor of the magazine, and Charlier was album editor for a period. In October 1961, Dargaud published the first ''Asterix'' album. In 1974, Dargaud wanted to diversify. ''Pilote'' became a monthly magazine and spawned two other monthly magazines. Robert Frederick Paulsen III (born March 11, 1956) is an American voice actor, known for his roles in numerous animated television series and films. He received a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program and three Annie Awards for his role as Pinky. Early life Rob Paulsen was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 11, 1956, the son of Bob and Lee Paulsen. Maurice LaMarche (born March 30, 1958) is a Canadian voice actor, comedian, and impressionist. He has voiced the Brain in '' Animaniacs'' as well as its spin-off '' Pinky and the Brain'', Big Bob in ''Hey Arnold!'' (1996–2004), and a variety of characters in ''Futurama''. YTV is a Canadian English language specialty channel owned by YTV Canada, Inc., a subsidiary of Corus Entertainment. The channel and its programming is targeted at children and young teenagers; its name was originally thought to be an abbreviation for "Youth Television", though the channel's website has denied this. Jolly Jumper is a horse character in the Franco-Belgian comics series ''Lucky Luke'', created by Belgian artist Morris. Described as "the smartest horse in the west" and able to perform tasks such as chess-playing and tightrope walking, Jolly Jumper accompanies his cowboy in their travels across the Wild West, and delivers frequent quips. In the Greek version of the series, Jolly Jumper is female and is called "Dolly". In the Turkish Version the character is called "Düldül". The Daltons (Lucky Luke)
Joe, William, Jack and Averell Dalton, known together as The Daltons or the Dalton brothers, are fictional characters in the ''Lucky Luke'' Western comics series. Four brothers and outlaws acting as the most recurring enemies to protagonist Lucky Luke, they were created by artist Morris and writer René Goscinny. Loosely inspired by the real-life Dalton Gang active in the United States in early 1890s (who themselves appeared in the 1954 ''Lucky Luke'' story " Outlaws"), The Daltons first had a one-panel cameo appearance in the 1958 comic '' Lucky Luke versus Joss Jamon'', before being prominently featured later that year in the comic '' The Dalton Cousins'' (named as such because the four are billed as the cousins of their real-life counterparts within the ''Lucky Luke'' universe). A guard dog or watchdog (not to be confused with an attack dog) is a dog used to watch for and guard property against unwanted or unexpected human or animal intruders. The dog is discerning so that it does not annoy or attack the resident humans of the house. History The use of dogs as guardians is well known since ancient times. Vittorio Leonardo
Vittorio Leonardo (25 November 1938) is an Italian colorist of some famous Franco-Belgian comics series. He worked for '' Spirou'' magazine and founded the ''Studio Leonardo'', which continued his work. Biography Vittorio Leonardo was born in Naples, Italy, in 1938. He left his motherland for Belgium in 1947. After various graphic experiences (charcoal, models, oil paintings), he finally dedicated himself to the comic strip. He met Morris and kept in touch with him. With the help of Morris, but also Franquin, Peyo and Remacle, Leonardo created the comics series ''Barbotine'' which allowed him to be hired by '' Spirou'' magazine. He took over ''Hultrasson'' in 1973, and he created ''Superdog'' and ''Bardolino''. He also wrote some scenarios, among them Boule et Bill. Bob De Groot
Bob de Groot is a Belgian comics artist and writer, born on 26 October 1941 in Brussels, to Dutch and French parents. Career While still a young art student de Groot got his first comics experience as an assistant to Maurice Tillieux on ''Félix''. He began creating shorter work for the Franco-Belgian comics magazine ''Pilote'', with creators such as Hubuc, Reiser. With Fred as scenarist he drew the strip ''4 × 8 = 32 L'Agent Caméléon'' in the late 60s.
