Beatrice Rangoni Machiavelli is an Italian politician, author, and activist. She was President of the Economic and Social Committee of the European Union from 1998 to 2000. Life She was born in Rome to a prominent family and studied physics and political science. She started her career as a journalist and essayist. From 1985 to 1994 she co-edited ''Libro Aperto'' magazine with Giovanni Malagodi. For ten years she directed the weekly ''La Tribuna'', the press organ of the Italian Liberal Party. In 1982 she became a member of the European Economic and Social Committee, on which she served until 2002. On October 15, 1998, she was elected President of the committee. In an interview Machiavelli said that as a member of a wealthy Lombard family, she grew up around educated, emancipated women. Luca Rangoni (born 23 September 1968 in Bologna) is an Italian auto racing driver. He is a married man with one son. Early career Like many racing drivers, Rangoni's first taste of racing was in karts, where he spent four years. He made his debut in circuit racing in the 1989 Italian Formula Alfa Boxer Championship, where he finished sixth on points. This was followed by two years in the Italian F2000 Trophy, which he won in his second year in 1991. In 1993 he competed in the Italian Formula Three Championship, winning the title in 1995 in a Dallara- Fiat. His success the previous year led to a drive in the 1996 FIA International F3000 Championship. Despite only entering one round in Pau, he ended the year in seventeenth after coming sixth in the race. After his time in Formula 3000 he took a break from racing due to a family tragedy. Ercole Rangoni or Ercole Rangone (died 25 August 1527) was a cardinal and religious leader of the Catholic Church for 10 years. Biography He served as Bishop of Adria from 1519 to 1524 and Bishop of Modena from 1509 until his death. He was made a cardinal in July 1517 by Pope Leo X. This was during his fifth consistory. Not much information is known about Ercole, but he served as a cardinal for the Catholic Church, in Vatican City. When his mother became a widow in 1500, she took the family back to Modena. When he finished his studies, he went to Rome and entered the service of Cardinal Giovanni de' Medici, future Pope Leo X. When the cardinal, who was papal legate, was taken prisoner by the French in 1512.
