Ralph Falsetta
Ralph Joseph Falsetta (August 25, 1914 – May 13, 1999), also known as Big Ralph Falsetta, was an American politician. He served as a Democratic member for the 18th district of the Louisiana State Senate. Falsetta was born in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, the son of Italian parents Rosa Regira and Anthony Falsetta. In 1975 Falsetta was elected for the 18th district of the Louisiana State Senate, serving until 1976. He served a second term from 1978 to 1980. Donaldsonville (historically french: Lafourche-des-Chitimachas) is a city in, and the parish seat of Ascension Parish in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The Louisiana State Senate (french: Sénat de Louisiane) is the upper house of the state legislature of Louisiana. All senators serve four-year terms and are assigned to multiple committees. Composition The Louisiana State Senate is composed of 39 senators elected from single-member districts from across the state of Louisiana by the electors thereof. Senators must be a qualified elector (registered voter), be at least eighteen years of age, be domiciled in their district for at least one year, and must have been a resident of the state for at least two years.
