Raksha Dave
Raksha Dave (born 22 August 1977) is an archaeologist and TV presenter, and is the current President of the Council for British Archaeology. Early life and education Dave graduated with a degree in Archaeology from the Institute of Archaeology in London in 1999. Personal life In April 2017, Dave married Nigel Jeffries, who is a medieval and post-medieval pottery expert at the Museum of London. Career Dave worked with a commercial archaeological unit, primarily excavating in London with the Museum of London Archaeology Service. She also excavated at the World Heritage Site of Catalhoyuk in Turkey, and sites in Texas and Puerto Rico. Dave featured regularly on ''Time Team'' between 2003 and 2013 as a field archaeologist. She was a presenter on season 7 of ''Digging for Britain'', broadcast in 2018. Time Team
''Time Team'' is a British television programme that originally aired on Channel 4 from 16 January 1994 to 7 September 2014. It returned online in 2022 for two episodes released on YouTube. Created by television producer Tim Taylor and presented by actor Tony Robinson, each episode featured a team of specialists carrying out an archaeological dig over a period of three days, with Robinson explaining the process in lay terms. The specialists changed throughout the programme's run, although it consistently included professional archaeologists such as Mick Aston, Carenza Lewis, Francis Pryor and Phil Harding. It is registered with the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA), and is a CIfA Accredited Field School. Background Headquartered in Barnard Castle with offices across the UK, DigVentures is a platform that enables civic participation in archaeology and heritage projects. They have pioneered the use of crowdfunding, crowdsourcing and digital methods to increase access and opportunities for real people to purposefully participate in real research. The organisation was formed in 2011, responding to the challenge of austerity and lack of opportunity in the heritage sector. ''Digging For Britain'' is a British television series focused on last and current year archaeology. The series is made by 360 Production (now Rare TV) for the BBC and is presented by Alice Roberts. It was first aired in August 2010. The series focuses on archaeological excavations and research in the United Kingdom, both at new sites and those already well known to science. Filming has taken place in many parts of the country. Its 10th series will be broadcast in January and February 2023 and it will consist of 6 episodes.
