''Raising Miranda'' is an American sitcom that aired on CBS in 1988 as part of its fall lineup. James Naughton
James Naughton (born December 6, 1945) is an American actor and director. He is best known as Michael Bower on '' Who's the Boss?'' (1984-1992) and was also notable for his earlier role as the astronaut Pete Burke in the 1974 single-season television adaptation of Planet of the Apes. Early life Naughton was born in Middletown, Connecticut, the son of Rosemary (née Walsh) and Joseph Naughton, both of whom were teachers. He is the elder brother of actor David Naughton. He graduated from Conard High School. Jim began singing during his years at Conard High School "with the high school band and at parties." Career Naughton graduated from Brown University and Yale School of Drama. His acting career began when he appeared in a series of Broadway dramas and musicals. ''Trial and Error'' is an American sitcom that was broadcast on CBS from March 15 to March 29, 1988. It was cancelled after the third episode, leaving the remaining five episodes unaired. Development ''Trial and Error'' evolved from a pilot entitled ''The Family Martinez'' created by comedian Tommy Chong, about a reformed Latino gang member who became a trial lawyer and moved back in with his family in East Los Angeles, California. CBS liked the concept, but wanted to change it from a family sitcom to a buddy comedy, and it was subsequently reworked as ''Amigos'' by Don Seigel and Jerry Perzigian. Chong remained on board as a producer, but "never showed up" to any of the writing sessions.
