Railmotor Stopping Place No. 16
Leawarra railway station is located on the Stony Point line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Frankston, and it opened on 30 November 1959 as Railway Stopping Place No 16. It was renamed Leawarra in 1962. On 22 June 1981, the passenger service between Frankston and Stony Point was withdrawn and replaced with a bus service. On 16 September 1984, promotional trips for the reopening of the line began and, on 27 September of that year, the passenger service was reinstated. In 1988, the platform was extended to accommodate a DRC railcar with an MTH carriage. Even then, at 44m, it was the shortest platform in Victoria with a regular rail passenger service. When Sprinter trains were introduced on the Stony Point line in 2008, the platform was again extended, and is now 60m long. Public Transport Victoria (PTV) is the brand name for public transport in the Australian state of Victoria, Australia, Victoria. It was the trading name of the Go Public Transport Development Authority (PTDA), a now-defunct statutory authority in Victoria, responsible for providing, coordinating, and promoting public transport. Myki ( ), stylised as myki, is a reloadable credit card-sized contactless smart card ticketing system used for electronic payment of fares on most public transport services in Melbourne and regional Victoria, Australia. Myki replaced the Metcard ticketing system and became fully operational at the end of 2012. Langwarrin Railway Station
Langwarrin was a railway station on the Stony Point line, in Victoria, Australia. It opened in 1888, to serve the newly established Langwarrin Military Reserve. The station operated until 1981, and was closed at the same time as the section of the Stony Point line, between the Long Island Junction and Stony Point railway station. Although the line reopened in 1983, Langwarrin station remained closed. Most traces of the station were removed by 1988, and all that remains of the station is the platform mound, located just off McClelland Drive, in between Tea-Tree Track and the Centre Break track, in the Langwarrin Flora and Fauna Reserve. Moorooduc Highway
Moorooduc Highway is a 16 km highway which runs from Frankston to Tuerong and, together with the Mornington Peninsula Freeway, was part of the main route from Melbourne to the Mornington Peninsula until the completion of Peninsula Link in 2013. This name is not widely known to most drivers, as the entire allocation is still best known as by the names of its constituent parts: McMahons Road, Frankston–Flinders Road, and Moorooduc Road. Boom Barrier
A boom barrier, also known as a boom gate, is a bar, or pole pivoted to allow the boom to block vehicular or pedestrian access through a controlled point. Typically the tip of a boom gate rises in a vertical arc to a near vertical position. Boom gates are often counterweighted, so the pole is easily tipped.
