Rail Network In South East Queensland
Queensland Rail operates ten suburban lines and three interurban lines. Centring in the Brisbane City, it extends as far as Gympie in the north, Varsity Lakes in the south, Rosewood in the west, and Cleveland in the east to Moreton Bay. Each line is ascribed a colour and name on all Queensland Rail signage and marketing collateral including timetables, posters and maps. There are 153 stations in the Queensland Rail City network. Geebung Railway Station
Geebung railway station is located on the North Coast line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Geebung. History On 28 August 2000, a third platform opened as part of the addition of a third track from Northgate to Bald Hills. In June 2013, a construction crew of an overpass at the Geebung railway station in northern Brisbane uncovered the 50-million-year-old fossilized remains (vertebrae) of a 5-metre crocodile trapped in a layer of oil shale. Workers drilling holes as part of an overpass reach the crocodile remains, as well as frogs, fish and plant fossils, in the ''spoil,'' the oil shale rock and soil found in the excavation pit. The fossil remains were discovered by a work crew drilling a hole for a bridge support over an area called the Zillman Waterholes. Petrie Railway Station
Petrie railway station is located on the North Coast line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the suburb of Petrie in the Moreton Bay Region. It opened as North Pine railway station in1888 after the nearby North Pine River and was renamed Petrie railway station (after local pioneer Thomas Petrie) in 1911. The station has five platforms. As part of the Redcliffe Peninsula line, the station was expanded with a new island platform built east of the existing platforms. It opened along with the rest of the line on 4 October 2016. The Caboolture railway line refers to the section of Queensland's North Coast Line that has a regular suburban railway service, extending north of Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland, Australia. The line commences at Roma St station, travelling through the city and extends through Brisbane's northern suburbs to Caboolture, which the line continues north to Sunshine Coast and connects with the Ipswich line south-west of Brisbane.
