Ragnhild Jacobsson
Ragnhild Jacobsson (born 15 July 1966) is a Norwegian entrepreneur, social worker, and environmental activist. Personal life Jacobsson is married to Lars Valentin Jacobsson and the couple supports animal projects globally. Philanthropy Ragnhild and her husband Lars have been working on animal projects since 2000. They bought Volunteer Travels Ltd. in 2008 and founded The Perfect World Foundation in 2010. The organizations are now working on more than 80 wildlife and environmental projects in 23 countries. In 2014, Jacobsson, under the umbrella of The Perfect World Foundation, arranged a wildlife gala and conference in Scandinavia. The event was titled ''Save the Rhino 2014'' and was, at the time, the largest of its type in the region. Skjervøy kommune ( sme, Skiervvá suohkan; fkv, Kieruan komuuni) is a municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Skjervøy on the island of Skjervøya, where most of the inhabitants live. The main industries are fishing and shipbuilding. Lars Valentin Jacobsson
Lars Jacobsson (born May 11, 1965) is a Swedish entrepreneur, inventor, philanthropist, and conservationist. Career Jacobsson initially worked in the petroleum industry, where he was involved in starting up storage, trading and shipping companies, as well as being the inventor of the oil Contango market in the early 1990s. In early 2000s he sold his oil related businesses. Since 2005, he started up two solar energy companies. In 2010, Jacobsson founded United Sun Systems International, a London-based company which develops solar energy technology. The Perfect World Foundation
The Perfect World Foundation is a non-governmental organisation that raises awareness and supports efforts to prevent the global ecological crisis. The organization was founded by Ragnhild Jacobsson and Lars Valentin Jacobsson in 2010. The organization conducts ten annual events as part of its strategic plan "The Final Count Down". The events commenced in 2020 with the "Climate Aid" event in Gothenburg, Sweden. Mark Shand
Mark Roland Shand (28 June 1951 – 23 April 2014) was a British travel writer and conservationist and the brother of Queen Camilla. Shand was the author of four travel books and as a BBC conservationist, appeared in documentaries related to his journeys, most of which centered on the survival of elephants. His book ''Travels on My Elephant'' became a bestseller and won the Travel Writer of the Year Award at the British Book Awards in 1992. He was the chairman of Elephant Family, a wildlife foundation, which he co-founded in 2002. Elephant Family
Elephant Family is an international NGO dedicated to protecting the Asian elephant from extinction in the wild. In the last fifty years their population has roughly halved and 90% of their habitat has disappeared. Poaching, a growing skin trade, and demand for wild-caught calves for tourism remain a constant threat along with the deadly and escalating conflict between people and elephants for living space and food. Asian Elephant
The Asian elephant (''Elephas maximus''), also known as the Asiatic elephant, is the only living species of the genus ''Elephas'' and is distributed throughout the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, from India in the west, Nepal in the north, Sumatra in the south, and to Borneo in the east.
