''Ragnheiður'' is an opera in three acts by to an Icelandic libretto by . It tells the story of the romantic relationship between Ragnheiður, daughter of the Icelandic bishop Brynjólfur Sveinsson, and her teacher Daði Halldórsson, based on events that took place at the episcopal See of Skálholt in the 17th century. Sinfóníuhljómsveit Íslands (Iceland Symphony Orchestra) (ISO) is an Icelandic orchestra based in Reykjavík, Iceland. Its primary concert venue is the Harpa Concert Hall. The Iceland Symphony is an autonomous public institution under the auspices of the Icelandic Ministry of Education. Iceland Symphony Orchestra made its home in Háskólabíó (University Cinema) from 1961 to 2011, but moved into the new 1800-seat Harpa Concert Hall in spring 2011. Sæmundr Fróði
Sæmundr Sigfússon, better known as Sæmundr fróði (''Sæmundr the Learned''; 1056–1133), was an Icelandic priest and scholar. Biography Sæmundr is known to have studied abroad. Previously it has generally been held that he studied in France, but modern scholars rather believe his studies were carried out in Franconia. In Iceland he founded a long-lived school at Oddi. He was a member of the Oddaverjar clan and was the father of Loftur Sæmundsson. Sæmundr wrote a work, probably in Latin, on the history of Norwegian kings.
