Raghupati Venkaiah Award
The Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu Award is an award issued by the Indian state government of Andhra Pradesh, to recognise lifetime achievements in Telugu cinema. The award was introduced in 1981 in honour of Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu, a pioneer of the Indian film industry. The winner is presented a Golden Nandi (named after a bull in Hindu mythology), a gold medal, a citation and a cash prize of at the Nandi Awards functions. Telugu Cinema
Telugu cinema, also known as Tollywood, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Telugu language, widely spoken in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Telugu cinema is based in Film Nagar, Hyderabad, India. The nickname ''Tollywood'' is a portmanteau of the words Telugu and Hollywood. By 2021, it has emerged as the largest film industry in India in terms of box-office. Since 1909, filmmaker Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu was involved in producing short films and travelling to different regions in Asia to promote film work. Inturi Venkateswara Rao
Inturi Venkateswara Rao ( te, ఇంటూరి వెంకటేశ్వరరావు), known as Inturi (1 July 1909 – 2002) was an Indian freedom fighter, Trade unionist, writer and film journalist. Brief lifesketch Inturi was born at Chandrarajupalem near Sattenapalli in Guntur district in 1909. His parents are Narasimham Pantulu and Laxmikantamma. After primary education at Tenali, he was attracted by Mahatma Gandhi and participated in the Non-cooperation movement in 1921. He was sentenced to three and half years jail term in 1930 for his participation in Salt Satyagraha. He joined the Socialist Party and was associated with Jayaprakash Narayan. Kaikala Satyanarayana
Kaikala Satyanarayana (25 July 1935 – 23 December 2022) was an Indian actor, producer, director, and politician who predominantly worked in Telugu cinema. Chittajallu Krishnaveni (born 24 December 1924), often known as C. Krishnaveni or simply Krishnaveni, is an Indian Telugu language actress, producer and playback singer.
