Rafflesia (band)
Rafflesia is a Belgian metalcore band from Zeebrugge, Belgium, formed in 2005 as part of the H8000 scene. Their style has also been described as death metal and hardcore punk. History In 2005, Bart Teetaert, Lazer Zec, Maxime Aneca, Nick Dapper and Jeremy de Schrijver formed the band. A few months later they performed at their first concert and quickly racked up a number of fans. Genet Records noticed this and signed them a record deal. In May 2006, Rafflesia released their self-titled mini-cd containing five songs. Short after the mini-cd got released, Maxime Aneca got replaced by Christian Charles Borny (a.k.a. CCB). This change in the line-up caused more melody in their songs. Zeebrugge (, from: ''Brugge aan zee'' meaning "Bruges at Sea", french: Zeebruges) is a village on the coast of Belgium and a subdivision of Bruges, for which it is the modern port. Zeebrugge serves as both the international port of Bruges-Zeebrugge and a seafront resort with hotels, cafés, a marina and a beach. Location Zeebrugge is located on the coast of the North Sea. Omerta were an indie rock band from Manchester, England. The band were an early forerunner of later UK Top 10 Albums act Slow Readers Club. In their own right, the band achieved considerable radio airplay and radio sessions. History Omerta formed in 2003 when the four members decided to try to make a name for themselves by writing music that they enjoyed playing and listening to. James, Nick, and Neil were the first members of the band, having met one another while at school, they were already good friends and had previously been in a band called Foghead. Cro-Mags are an American hardcore punk band from New York City. The band, which has a strong cult following, has released six studio albums, with the first two considered the most influential. With a Hare Krishna background, they were among the first bands to fuse hardcore punk with thrash metal. Cro-Mags have gone through many line-up changes since the band's beginnings. Caliban are a German metalcore band from Essen. To date, they have released thirteen studio albums and two EPs, along with two split albums with Heaven Shall Burn. History Caliban was formed in Essen, Germany in 1997 as ''Never Again''. In the beginning, the band consisted of vocalists Andreas Dörner and Marc Ulfig, guitarists Björn Kaiser and Marc Görtz, bassist Engin Güres and drummer Kai Kogelheide. Maroon (band)
Maroon was a German metalcore band based in Nordhausen. They were formed in 1998. History Maroon released a demo cassette in 1999 entitled ''The Initiate'' although all four songs can be found on later releases. Their first CD, ''Captive in the Room of the Conspirator'', was recorded at Headquarters Studion in Berlin in spring 2000 and released that year on the (now-defunct) Kerosene Recordings label, featuring such songs as "The Solution' which strongly advocated a vegan lifestyle and support for animal liberation and earth liberation.
