Rafał Gikiewicz
Rafał Gikiewicz (born 26 October 1987) is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Bundesliga club FC Augsburg. Club career Gikiewicz was born in Olsztyn. In July 2008, he moved to Jagiellonia Białystok. In August 2010, he was loaned to OKS 1945 Olsztyn on a one-year deal. He returned to Jagiellonia Białystok half a year later. In January 2011, he joined Śląsk Wrocław on 4.5-year contract. In April 2014, German club Eintracht Braunschweig announced the signing of Gikiewicz for the 2014–15 season. In August 2016, Gikiewicz transferred to Freiburg. In June 2018, Gikiewicz moved to Union Berlin signing a two-year contract. The transfer fee paid to Freiburg was reported as €200,000. UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifying
The UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying tournament was a football competition that was played from March 2019 to November 2020 to determine the 24 UEFA member men's national teams that advanced to the UEFA Euro 2020 final tournament, played across Europe in June and July 2021. The competition was linked with the 2018–19 UEFA Nations League, giving countries a secondary route to qualify for the final tournament. For the first time since 1976, no team automatically qualified for the UEFA European Championship as the host country. The 2012–13 Ekstraklasa or T-Mobile Ekstraklasa for sponsorship reasons, was the 79th season of the highest level of football leagues in Poland since its establishment in 1927. It began on 17 August 2012 and concluded on 2 June 2013. A total of 16 teams are participating, 14 of which competed in the league during the 2011–12 season, while the remaining two were promoted from the I Liga. The 2011–12 Ekstraklasa was the 78th season of the highest level of football leagues in Poland since its establishment in 1927. It started on 29 July 2011 and concluded on 6 May 2012. A total of 16 teams participated, 14 of which competed in the league during the 2010–11 season, while the remaining two were promoted from the 2010–11 season of the I Liga. Each team played a total of 30 matches, half at home and half away. Śląsk Wrocław won the title, which marked their 2nd title in Ekstraklasa history. The 2009–10 Ekstraklasa was the 76th season since its establishment as the highest football league of Poland. It began on 31 July 2009 and ended on 15 May 2010. The champions were Lech Poznań. Teams Due to several non-competitive events between last and this season, the team exchange among the two highest football divisions of Poland was only partially determined by the 2008–09 league tables. ŁKS Łódź were denied a license by the Polish FA because of financial issues. ŁKS filed several appeals against this decision, but were eventually left without any success. Poland Ekstraklasa (), meaning "Extra Class" in Polish, named PKO Ekstraklasa since the 2019–20 season due to its sponsorship by PKO Bank Polski, is the top Polish professional league for men's association football teams. Contested by 18 clubs, operating a system of promotion and relegation with the I liga, seasons start in July, and end in May or June the following year. Teams play a total of 34 games each. 2008–09 Ekstraklasa
The 2008–09 Ekstraklasa was the seventy-fifth season of top-tier football in Poland. It began on 8 August 2008 and ended on 30 May 2009. The season was originally scheduled to start on 25 July 2008. However, the first two rounds of games were postponed because of legal uncertainties about the number of teams in the competition following an association-wide corruption scandal. Wisła Kraków won the league for the second time in a row and for the 12th time in their history after defeating Śląsk Wrocław 2–0 in the final match of the season. II liga (Druga Liga, ), currently named eWinner II liga due to sponsorship reasons by eWinner, is a Polish football league that sits at the third tier of the Polish football league system. Until the end of the 2007–08 season ''II Liga'' referred to a league at the 2nd tier, although this changed with the formation of the Ekstraklasa as the top level league in Poland.
