Radio Stations
Radio broadcasting is transmission of audio (sound), sometimes with related metadata, by radio waves to radio receivers belonging to a public audience. In terrestrial radio broadcasting the radio waves are broadcast by a land-based radio station, while in satellite radio the radio waves are broadcast by a satellite in Earth orbit. To receive the content the listener must have a broadcast radio receiver (''radio''). Stations are often affiliated with a radio network which provides content in a common radio format, either in broadcast syndication or simulcast or both. Hromadske Radio
Hromadske Radio (Ukrainian for " Public Radio") is a Ukrainian non-governmental and nonprofit media organization, which aims to create an independent radio broadcasting in Ukraine. Its predecessor, also called ''Hromadske Radio'', was created in 2002 by journalist Olexandr Kryvenko (1963-2003). Despite the popularity of the website, the project was closed in 2005, as it failed to receive a government license for broadcasting. Hromadske Radio was considered one of the first independent and objective platforms in Ukraine, where representatives of different political forces can share their opinions without censorship. Army FM
Army FM ( uk, Армія FM) is a Ukrainian radio station owned and operated by the Ministry of Defence. Army FM was sponsored by the American nonprofit, Spirit of America, and started broadcasting on March 1, 2016 in test mode. The station broadcasts news and music in the Ukrainian and Russian languages. It broadcasts online, via satellite and in some cities via FM. Kraina FM ( uk, Країна ФМ) — Ukraine's first all-Ukrainian-language radio, broadcast in 26 cities in Ukraine and online prior to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Radio România Internaţional ( ro, Radio România Internaţional, or ) is a Romanian radio station owned by the Romanian public radio broadcaster Societatea Română de Radiodifuziune (SRR, the national public radio in Romania) that broadcasts abroad.
