Bhutan
Bhutan (; dz, འབྲུག་ཡུལ་, Druk Yul ), officially the Kingdom of Bhutan,), is a landlocked country in South Asia. It is situated in the Eastern Himalayas, between China in the north and India in the south. A mountainous country, Bhutan is known as "Druk Yul," or "Land of the Thunder Dragon". Nepal and Bangladesh are located near Bhutan but do not share a land border. Trashigang
Trashigang ( dz, བཀྲ་ཤིས་སྒང་།), or Tashigang, meaning "fortress of auspicious mount," is a town in eastern Bhutan and the district capital of the Trashigang Dzongkhag (district). The town lies to the east side of the valley above the Drangme Chhu river just south of where it is joined by the Gamri River. Trashigang is the eastern terminus of the Lateral Road, Bhutan's main highway leading to Phuntsholing in the southwest. History Trashigang Dzong was built in 1659 by Trongsa Penlop Minjur Tenpa and served for centuries as an administrative headquarters and monastery, though government offices mostly relocated by 2011. Its sinking eastern foundation and crumbling upper walls necessitated either relocation or total destruction and reconstruction. In October 2011, dzong, under renovation since 2007, was on the verge of collapse. However, , the Trashigang Dzong was still used for the town's yearly religious festival called tsechu. Tshering Choden (archer)
Tshering Choden (born 6 July 1980) is an archer from Bhutan who competed at the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics. Choden entered the 2004 Summer Olympics with a world ranking of 176. She was one of two Bhutanese athletes taking part in the Games, the other being with fellow archer Tashi Peljor, and was selected as Bhutan's flagbearer for the Games' opening ceremony. Choden began the women's individual event with fifty-fourth place in the preliminary 72-arrow ranking round, scoring 600 points from 720. She delivered a surprise result in the opening elimination round with victory over China's Lin Sang by a margin of three points, becoming the first Bhutanese archer ever to win a match at the Olympics. Choden faced India's Reena Kumari in the second round, the pair posting identical scores of 134 points over the regulation eighteen arrows.
