Raasiku Manor
Raasiku is a borough ( et, alevik) in Raasiku Parish, Harju County, Estonia, with a population of 1,372 (2020). Although situated in a parish with the same name, Raasiku is not the official administrative centre of the municipality (which is Aruküla, located some kilometres or one railway station closer to Tallinn). The settlement started to grow in the 19th century around the railway station. The Raasiku manor (first mentioned in 1497) was established on the grounds of the earlier Kaemla (Keamol) village and in the middle ages it belonged to Padise Abbey. There is a primary school (since 1717), community centre, library, health care centre, pharmacy, kindergarten and three grocery stores in Raasiku. Padise Abbey
Padise Abbey ( et, Padise klooster) was a former Cistercian monastery in Padise in Harju County, Estonia, settled in 1310 by the dispossessed monks of Dünamünde Abbey in Latvia. It was converted into a fortress after its dissolution in 1559 and later used as a country house until 1766. The ruins are now a museum. History The interest in Padise of monks from Dünamünde Abbey in the present Daugavgrīva near Riga is first documented in 1283 in a letter from King Eric V of Denmark (Eric Klipping) regarding the acquisition of land for the construction of a Cistercian monastery, but almost certainly they had had a presence there for several decades previously as a part of the Christianisation of the territories of Estonia newly conquered by the Teutonic Knights. Anija
Anija (german: Hanniecken) is a village in Anija Parish, Harju County in northern Estonia. It has a population of 128 (as of 1 January 2010). Anija was first mentioned in 1241 as ''Hangægus'' village in the Danish Census Book. Anija Manor A manor house has existed in Anija since at least 1482, but the present building dates from the early years of the 19th century. The manor was burned down during the uprising of 1905, but later restored more or less in its original form. The building still showcases some fine stucco decorations on both the front and back façades, as well as an ebony staircase from the early 20th century. Adjacent to the manor house the former smithy, granary, creamery and cowshed are situated. The manor house is located in a park, unique for its many foreign tree species. Kehra
Kehra is a town in Anija Parish, Harju County, Estonia, most known for its pulp and paper mill. The town is situated on the banks of the Jägala river, and has a station on the Tallinn-Narva railway. As of January 1, 2021, the town had a population of 2635. Etymology Kehra village, the town's namesake, was first mentioned in the Danish Census Book as ''Ketheræ'' in 1241''.'' On a rail transport system, signalling control is the process by which control is exercised over train movements by way of railway signals and block systems to ensure that trains operate safely, over the correct route and to the proper timetable.
